Tried google searching and still not sure how to fix this problem. I have an Android HTC Droid Incredible and a few months my gmail stopped syncing. I was okay with that since I can still check my mail through my browser. But now I don't even get my text msgs anymore. Sometimes restarting the phone does the trick but it doesn't work every time. Am I running low on memory? I used a temporary fix for the gmail: clearing the data and cache and restarting the phone. The gmail app then syncs with my mailbox, but it wouldn't keep syncing, just that one time. Now I'm having problem with my text messages and I can't ignore this any more. I deleted most of my downloaded apps and pretty much just left my pictures, text messages, and videos. Specs: My SD card total space- 1.86GB, available space 277MB Internal storage total space- 6.60GB, available space 6.31GB Phone memory total space 784MB, available space 565MB Plz help. Will rep~~
it could be a hardware defect... i would try getting it replaced... no point in stressing about it. whose your provider?
Verizon... My plan is up for upgrade replacement next month, but I was going to just stick with this phone for the time being until the Iphone 5 or something like that comes out this year. Also, since my phone is up for replacement next month anyway, I took the extended warranty and insurance I have been paying 7.99 for every month for two years, off my plan on Sunday. Stupid huh?
For the G-mail issue. Go to Menu>settings> accounts and sync> click on your G-mail account. Do you have a check next to G-mail? If not, check it. If you do already, uncheck it and then re-check it. You didn't explain what exactly was going on with the text messages. Are they failing? Are they taking a long time to send? Etc.. Also, dial X228 and hit option 1 to re-program your device onto the network
Ah, Sorry. I see that you said you're not getting text messages anymore. As I posted earlier, I'd try dialing x228. It could perhaps be a network issue as well?
I have a check next to Google/Gmail. Not sure why it only syncs the first time after I clear data/cache and restart. Text messages simply don't come anymore. I got it to work one time by deleting a bunch off crap off my phone and rebooting, all of a sudden I had like 100 texts at once. But when I try deleting now, it doesn't work this time. =(
Sounds like something is corrupted. Since you've gone as far as deleting all your apps, at this point, why not try going for a factory reset? Also, if you do have insurance, I don't think Verizon still sends refurbished Dinc's anymore so you may be able to get a newer phone at a low cost. (If that's an option)
Go to Verizon. Make sure it's a corporate store and not just retail. Tell them your problem and they should tell you they can replace it with next day delivery. It's what I did with my phone a couple weeks ago.
Fwiw, its open enrollment for insurance so you'll have till April 30th to readd it. Could be an issue with the Gmail app, how you downloaded the update that came out recently? If so, try going to Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All Tab, scroll down to Gmail and hit "clear data". It'll delete the emails off your phone but will resync when reopen the Gmail app. As for the SMS issue, could be the SMS app implemented with HTC Sense.Try a 3rd app from Google Play Store such as Go SMS and see if you start getting them. If you do with GO SMS, its a software issue and you'd have to do a factory (hard) reset
If you do a factory reset and still have the same issue they will replace your phone with Incredible 2. Just saying
I stopped receiving text messages a couple weeks ago. I took my phone to a technical service center and they told me everything looked OK. So they took my phone over to the retail side where they told me they needed to deactivate then reactivate my service. I thought this was a **** idea since I'm on a family plan and no one else was having this problem. But, it ended up fixing the problem. And I haven't had the same problem since.
I have an Incredible also. It had the same symptoms you described + told me I was out of memory when I wasn't + told me I had an update, but never installed it. Co-worker had same phone, same problem. Factory reset does the trick.
Exactly. It says Im running low on memory and always asks me to install update which it never does. How did you back up all your stuff before you did the factory reset? I already transferred my pics to my computer but I want to keep my phone settings, apps, the way it is as much as possible.
