On a scale from 0 to 20 points, where 20 signifies full engagement with mainstream American culture and 0 signifies deep cultural isolation within the new upper class bubble, you scored between 0 and 4. In other words, your bubble is so thick you may not even know you're in one. This is a shame, given that I am always making a conscious effort to immerse myself in the surrounding American culture. I do tend to shy away from the "mainstream" however, though I think a question here and there about Henry James or U.S. history would've been mainstream enough... oh well.
Interesting. I just searched my own posts and it shows nothing from December to March. But if it gives you comfort to feel I'm omnipresent, like jesus, then go ahead and play that card. Because I am the truth, I am the rain and I am the wind. All encompassing. Apologies for dampening your mood. But you know what they say, disappointment stems from what you stare at in the mirror, not role models. Tiger Woods could be a "disappointment" to you because your kids looked up to him for guidance, but at the end of the day, it's on you to take care of your own family. Not Tiger. Regulated.
I had a 9-12. Grew up middle class but most my life I have worked in labor oriented jobs. Worked in a plant in Baytown for a summer, restaurants for 4 years. Hopefully that ends come 5-12!!
Your gut is telling you what the quiz told you. You're 5-8, realistically adjusted to 9-11 due to growing up in an African American community that isn't built on the foundations of "good ol" America. The quiz told us all I'm a 0-4. Adjusted to 0. So if you want to insinuate, to imply, to subtly indicate, that a 0 is close to an 11, then I don't know what to say to you. Except keep up the good work in HR.
Hey I got a 5-8. I could make a test to see if Murray needs to get outside of the think tank conservative and or academic ghetto where all blacks are low IQ, all unmarried women with children are lazy, all Americans can always be treated month after month for "free" at the ER's etc. It is also objectionable to try to say that only NASCAR/Christian fundamentalists who drink PBR, which used to be my favorite beer when I lived in Wisconsin during college, are the real Americans (ala Sarah Palin) or steeped in "American" culture.
I also got 9-12. I'm pretty sure the beer question goes for Bud, Coors, and Miller as well. I marked no, though I suppose I have maybe bought Sam Adams or Yuengling, which could possibly count, but I don't think so. I have fished once in the past 5 years that I can recall. I know plenty of hunters/fishers though living in Georgia. I think it was accurate for me, though I think questions about Oprah and being a redneck seem a bit pointless. Plenty of those people live in a bubble.
This quiz is biased. I was 0-4 but the things that the common white guy does/has done doesn't really apply to me. And, there aren't many people I would consider "close friends". Many acquaintances, few friends.
0-4, but I think being black, having immigrant parents and surfing the net 10 hours a night and literally 20 hours a day on weekends and evenings for the last 15 years skews the results.
0-4. But having a mother who grew up in a sheltered suburb and living in the same WASP upper middle class town my entire life is probably why.
I'm surprised I scored so high relative to Clutchfans D & D I figured most of us growing up in Texas would raise our collective score. I guess D & D really is dominated by an elitist back slapping cadre.
I am surprised I scored as high as I did, especially with multiple post graduate degrees... but as I have gotten older I have drifted to blue collar interests; hunting, fishing, rebuilding cars and houses..
When I was 11, the Rotary Club sponsored my Little Dribblers BBall team and we got to go to a meeting because we won the championship. Last month I attended again as my daughter was selected as Rotary Club Student of the Year from her school. So yeah, I counted those. (By the way, those meetings are weird. A bunch of extroverted fake happy people paying "fines" and desperately trying to network with each other all the while offering homage to some third rate realtor who happens to be the president of the club. Very odd. They did pay for my lunch both times, so it's not too bad.)
