Seems to be a lot of these lately.

    Beyonce - Sasha Fierce
Mariah Carey - Mimi (Mimi must be related to Beyonce by the look on her album cover)
Nicki Minaj - Harajuku Barbie, Roman Zolanski
    Britney Spears - Britannia
    Christina Aguilera - Xtina(?)
    Lady Gaga - Jo Calderone
Katy Perry - Kathy Beth Terry(?)

Seems rather odd to me. almost everyone of those alter egos is sexually based imo with the exception of Katy Perry's. These women are half nekkid all the time anyway, why do they need a name for it? Everytime I try to look up on this stuff, it always delves into toycen territory so I normally just leave it alone, but still...

Was intrigued by it again a couple days ago and went into full toycen mode. Just in case toycen's lurking...the one eye pose thing is also getting a lot of play for a while.

Mariah Carey's alter ego is actually "Bianca" from back in the Rainbow days of the late 90's when she appeared in her music video for Heratbreaker.

Here's a video of a little interview from back in the day.

If you want to really get into the whole different side of it. Notice one thing in common by all of those pictures? One eye is always covered or made to stand out in those picture. This is what all the people say hint to the Illuminati.

I watched this video for the sake of getting up to par with it but it's pretty interesting. Take it for what it's worth.

I would have SMASHED Mariah in the late 90's, don't care if she wants to go by Bianca, Mimi or Harry.

Guy artists have done provocative alter egos for a while really.

    Jim Morrison the Lizard King
David Bowie with Ziggy Stardust, Thin White Duke
    Bono with MacPhisto
    Eminem with Slim Shady

Women go the sexual provocative route. Though you can say it does a similar purpose of covering more ground

Most of the listed pop-stars above are lame, anyway. Further showing their desperate attempts to stay relevant against the onset of newer, fresher, more edgier, and *cough* maybe more talented singers. Outside of Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera, mostly a group of laughable talents, honestly. Michael Jackson/Bruce Springsteen/Tina Turner/Freddie Mercury/James Brown never needed ridiculous alter-egos to publicize.
