I will let you know if a few minutes. I'm orally dictating my responses to my secretary right now. She'll then input them into the computer and print out my results.

I scored between 10-12, I think the Oprah question needs an addendum of "without your wife making you". That is the only reason I could really answer yes.

    9-12
In other words, even if you're part of the new upper class, you've had a lot of exposure to the rest of America.

I answered yes to the uniform question, because I have had jobs that require me to wear a collared shirt with the company's logo or a t-shirt that says STAFF on the back. the beer and cigarette questions I answered yes, even though I keep single bottles in my fridge but don't drink them on a nightly basis.

most of my Texas friends smoke, but none of my California friends do. go figure.

do you bang that skeezer of a secretary on late nights, as well?

On a scale from 0 to 20 points, where 20 signifies full engagement with mainstream American culture and 0 signifies deep cultural isolation within the new upper class bubble, you scored between 5 and 8.

In other words, you can see through your bubble, but you need to get out more.

I scored between 5-8, which I guess is a bad thing.

But, Charles Murray is someone whose opinion I put no value in.

5-8. But judging by the questions, I don't really care if I score high or low.

The beer question is especially galling.

I was at a grocery store in Greenpoint, BKY - the imported beer from Poland, Czech and Germany (Zwyiec, Bittburger, Tyskie ) is the cheapest deal in the house, and the drank of choice of local working class types (it's Pollish, so lots of contractors etc). Meanwhile, PBR would be "domestic mass market" but it's pretty much exclusively a thrift-store American spirit smoking ironic kid drink.

Probably goes the same for Mexican beer in ohter immigrant neighborhoods. Why doesn't Modelo Espeical/Tecate/Corona etc count? A lot more blue collar workers drink that than drink MGD or Michelob Light.

These Heritage Foundation types should try to escape the DC bubble next time they craft their "U R ELITIST" survey, because part of being white/non-hispanic working class is actually the increasing frequency of dealing with non-whites & hispanics.

Blue collar Mexicans in the US drink Bood light and Meeler light, from what I've seen

On a scale from 0 to 20 points, where 20 signifies full engagement with mainstream American culture and 0 signifies deep cultural isolation within the new upper class bubble, you scored at least 17.

In other words, you're so embedded in mainstream America that you need to visit the bubble once in a while.

I think you lose points on this test if you describe anything as 'especially galling.'

This is a ridiculous piece of propaganda. I would predict that professor Murray would like most of the libertarian/conservative intelligentsia would score close to zero. Except for manipulating their largely male white working class followers they have virtually no contact. Like Rush Limbaugh they hobnob with the elite and stay in elite hotels and drink expensive beverages etc. while fueling the resentment of the folks their policies screw.
