almost unrecognizeable from the Linkin Park of my younger days. not a huge fan. wasn't a super fan or anything before, but like them less now.
never liked Linkin Park. My rap/rock phase died with the likes of 311, Sublime, etc. Linkin Park just seemed to whine a lot with ass-rock in the background. but I think Mike Shinoda is not bad as Fort Minor.
Whatever tickles your pickle. I rather like a lot of their new stuff. Their old stuff is still great, too. I wouldn't say they "lost what they had," I would say they have changed what you liked about them. I'll make sure to listen to this after work (YouTube throttled to hell and back).
I love Chester Bennington's voice, the guy is really talented. Linkin Park has gotten too old. Minutes to midnight brought everything back up and then it just went downwards again after... Hopefully I'll eat crow after the album comes out, it better not be a disappointment.
I was a huge Linkin Park fan before, but this sounds like Lady Gaga should be singing over the beat or something. And to that dude that said Shinoda is one of the greatest rappers of our time, you must not listen to hip hop at all.
This. Shinoda is more of a jack of all trades type of guy. Dabbles into everything and does alright at it.
I agree, he is definitely talented, but I wouldn't even put him in the top 50 hip hop artists of this era.
Linkin Park and Pendulum have slowly been on a collision course, LP from the rock side and Pendulum from the electronic (drum & bass) side IMHO. Minus the rapping. I'm actually happy for their success going more mainstream, just wish Pendulum would still make some songs from their early days when they really left their mark in dnb. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0StdA99Wal4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Decided to wiki Pendulum to see what they're up to now, evidently they did open up for LP a few times. Anyways, not particularly into this stuff but I thought the OP video was good, all things considered.
Well there is a MC most of the time Pendulum (or any other dnb artists) perform. So there is some rap to it. I love pendulum they're awesome, absolutely crazy when I saw them in Vegas.
All this talk about Pendulum here reminds me of the Knife Party show I went to a few weeks ago. ****ing awesome!
Meh. Maybe it's time to part way with Chester. They need a fresh voice because it sounds like the same thing for the last 12 yrs. <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/eVTXPUF4Oz4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
They'd be better off kicking out the rapper. I know he was the original lead singer, but every song would sound better if he wasn't part of it.
TNT NBA Playoffs Promo with "Burn it Down." I recall Fort Minor being the TNT NBA Playoff song years ago. I guess some TNT or NBA executive likes LP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwbBzlCzeXA <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/IwbBzlCzeXA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
