I think anyone who watched tonight's game knows why this thread is started. But seriously, let's think of sophomore slumps who have been as bad as Patterson's.
This game was just the epitome of it. Patterson is shooting around .440, which is TERRIBLE for a power forward. He literally averages more field goals attempted game than points per game. We know about his rebounding. Yes, he's an okay-good defender. That doesn't justify the rest.
Let me think of a list. Patterson's got the yips - something I never, ever expected to happen considering he was a Chuck Hayes-type workhorse in college. He just looks gone.
Who ever said Landry was a bust on this thread is smoking to much. Landry should of been on this team over scola....
Where is this Patrick Patterson aka Patsquash? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/mFn0q-GUZ5c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Either the surgery set him back more than I thought it would, or he didn't pick up a basketball once in the off season.
WORST SOPHOMORE SLUMPS EVER ... Does not belong belong to Patrick Patterson. The only people who think he is having the worst sophomore slump ever are the same people on this board who was proclaiming him to be a solid, contributing power forward with all star potential. He could be playing better, he is not absolutely terrible and beyond on that it's not like he was an all-star or a viable starter last year.
Thabeet managed to have a worse 2nd year drop off, with no injury to use an excuse. And then there's Adam Morrison, who fell off a cliff his 2nd year. There've been plenty of worse sophmore slumps. Patterson has lost a lot of shine, but most of that was just fan hype he didn't live up to.
