Wow. Did y'all see the finalists resumes?

Resume 1 was a former college and pro football player with references from Miles, Muschamp, Saban, and Dooley - four current SEC head coaches. Has a master's degree.

Resume 2 worked as an intern in the Arkansas football office with a reference from Petrino himself. Has a master's degree.

Resume 3 has no football experience or a master's degree.

Guess who was hired in an expedited search reserved for highly qualified candidates? # 1 and 2 should hire lawyers.

It's not illegal or universally immoral by contemporary standards; but these sports programs exist for the solitary purpose of promoting the school: so once a coach brings sufficiently bad publicity, he's completely worthless.

Almost all head football coaches have masters degrees: graduate assistant with a college program is the entry-level training, and small-town school districts need to justify the six-figure salaries; so if they have a masters they can usually teach in addition to coaching, or the Super can also make them Athletic Director or something.

That's kind of besides the point. There was never any intent on Petrino's part to hire the most qualified candidate. He created that job opening just for her.

Could they sue? Sure. But what would they be getting out of it? The football player candidate seems to just want to move on.

He is a good coach. Sure someone will give him a job. Maybe UT will hire him if mac has another bad season. You have Ohio state, Miami, fsu. There are plenty of questionable programs.

Think of all the backseat motorcycle riding coeds in Austin. No thanks!

UT will never hire Petrino. When it comes time for UT to get a new coach, the list of applicants will go on forever. No need for UT to dig Petrino out of the toilet.

However, if UH has a couple of horrendous seasons, I could see them going for Petrino.
