ClutchFans Game Thread: Suns @ Rockets 4/13/2012

I'd like to watch the game again but from my first viewing Goran wasn't driving because Gortat was constantly waiting outside the lane, cutting off the driving lane, leaving Camby open at the top of the key. The Sun's team defense was focused on Dragic and treated him as our main weapon.

When Dragic (same before with Lowry) is rolling our offense is fluid...when he isn't we have to rely on Scola in the post which is not consistent.

 

Goran is tired. He's been run into the ground in the last 20 games. You can't expect him to play 37+ minutes on average, while being the focal point of drive and kick offense and playing solid defense.

McHale needs to establish a steady rotation at the point, that will enable Dragić to get some rest.

Well at least the Nuggets lost. We need to split the back to back with them at worst.

I'm beginning to think homecourt advantage doesn't mean much.

Sigh... Didn't watch game earlier, had other plans this evening but I see the Rox lost another crucial game. After great 4-0 road trip, team comes home and lays a couple of eggs on the home-stand. I love the Rox, but it's hard for the average fan to get into a team that is so inconsistent and.....mediocre.

 

man im watching these post game interviews and its depressing.. but I'm sure our guys will be motivated for our games against denver. I know we played like crap in the last 2 crucial games, but i know our team can make up for it

Well, that's the entire story really. Everyone here at Clutchfans trying to blame certain players or the coach, but it really just comes down to shooting. Rockets shoot 4-20 and then 4-19 from 3pt range the last two games. The Rockets only have Scola that can score from the low post, so opposing teams focus on stopping Scola and force the Rockets to shoot perimeter shots. When the Rockets start making shots they will start winning again.

agreed. I was more meaning we'd be close to 5th, as opposed to struggling to hold 7th and 8th with other teams only 1 game outside. I dont think theres any chance we catch HCA, nor would it benefit us.

 

Yeah, and if we drop 2 more games, he will have us at 25%. That is the stupidest, most useless forecast of many I've seen.

 

This! And were well contested this game also. The player ball movement won't work if the defense doesn't double, this is what frustrates me about the offense and why we don't go to the FT line as much. It's designed to get an open shot not anything going to the basket.

 

Well Denver is worst in the league at defending the 3 pt line.

 

I usually disagree with you, but this is spot on. When they shoot a good percentage from 3, they usually win.
