Actually if wasn't. Not calling you out, but half of the seats were empty during gametime. People start coming late in the 1st quarter. the only time IMO it should be empty is at the beginning of the 3rd quarter when people are in line at the concession stands. That typically happens at every nba game.
Well to be fair, I sorta get that, but at the same time I don't. I live 20 minutes from Toyota center, and I leave the house at 5:30 and get to the streets at 5:50 to park on the street because it's free after 6, and yes I agree about h-town being a football town, but we are still in a playoff race with not that many games, especially home games left. That's the part that gets me.
Comparing our fans with the crowd of the worst franchise with the worst record in the NBA just sums it up it.
No one wore the T-Shirts because they were HUGE. If I'm already comfortably seated decked out in my Rockets gear why would I put on an ugly t-shirt?
The shirts say "become a season ticket holder". Yeah, Leslie is really trying to get the fans "in the spirit of things". The spirit of filling his pockets, perhaps.
You're fortunate to live by the Toyota Center. Houston is the 4th largest city in the country. It takes most people close to an hour in traffic to get from one side of town to another. As far as the playoff race, we've been down this road the past few years just to fizzle in the end. The fans are cautious because they have been teased too many times.
I know bud, that was just my first reaction because I was really cheering them on hoping for a miraculous comeback like OKC on the road but instead we get to defeats at home
Golden State has, what, 1 playoff appearance in 17 years? They have one of the best crowds. Houston has been botton ten in attendance for the last two years
I agree. I hate our fans/crowd. I think there might be more bandwagons in houston than true fans. Gotta admit Wednesdays game was packed tho. but still no cheering was going on except when we scored or tried to make a run. At the end w/like 5 min left when everyone was leaving I said out loud to my friend u see all these fans leaving, all bandwagon pointing to them too and everyone looked at me idc tho. I don't understand why go if you're not gonna cheer?
A crowd IS a generalization. Of course there's gonna be diehards but if 80% of the crowd doesn't care about the game then it's a bad crowd.
They could have given us red jerseys and I bet half of the people wouldnt even wear them. I'm done ranting for now.
If its not football, this city doesn't care, and it's a damn shame. The Texans can go 0-16 and people will still drink the kool-aid and show up hours before kickoff to tailgate. I left with 4 shirts cause I'm awesome. Unfortunately, I wear a 2 or 3x, and any T-shirt toss or giveaway is usually a 1x.
The shirts were extra large. I wear large and It still fit me. All they had to do was tuck it in if they are worried about the size. LOL
also its not Toyota Center that sux, idk if its in this one I read or the other crowd one but Toyota Center doesn't suck, its the fans. We have the 2nd best PA Announcer IMO in John Paul Stevenson, best mascot IMO, and MAYBE the best cheerleaders in the RPD.
