This was the most impressive and disgusting flopping effort by Scola ever. It makes me smile and feel horrible about myself for smiling.
Terrible analogy. I highly doubt McHale would have let a 6 foot Derek Fisher clock him and would be laying in a fetal position on the court.
Zboy is laying it on thick....but it's clear scola often has no confidence in his ability to D-up and would rather try for a flop to get bailed out. He's 6'9 and a solid weight, no reason to flop so often. Put your hands up, plant your feet.
His play tonight reminded me of one of the best regarded defensive bigs Omer Asik of the Chicago Bulls.
Honestly, I can't blame him. The amount of over the back rebounds that weren't called was ridiculous.
This is one of the dumbest posts I have ever read on Al Gore's invention called the internet. I don't even know what it means? What in the hell does "hicks" have to do with anything? JFC.
It's so annoying when he has inside position and instead of boxing out he flops. I mean, stay on your feet bro, that way if you don't get the call you're still useful. I've seen too many easy lay-ups given up that way.
I'm pissed lee keeps missing shots sg should make. I'm pissed Patterson can't make a post up shot. I'm pissed lowry tries drawing bs fouls every other play. I'm pissed Parsons is scared to shoot long range shots. I'm pissed Martin can't heal and there is no updates on his status. I'm pissed people can diss a player like Scola, who hustles nonstop, and call him a burden.
yeaah you bunch of capitalist hoards! Stfu! seriously what the heck is going on? We lose two in a row and we're all killing each other. panic on the streets of toyota center.
He has no confidence because he has no D. He has tried and tried and he can not D-up most of his opponents. Chuch Hayes knew he could n't block shots so he quit trying and started slapping balls away down low. The last 2 games I saw Scola flopping more than ever. It's almpst like he is desperate to make the playoffs and he is trying to do everything. I do not partucularly like it but Scola of all Rockets leaves his heart on the floor. The OP is getting bent out of shape about something I wish all of our players did a little better and thats leave it all on the floor. Let the refs handle the refereeing.
Im alright with flopping if its not the whole team. Scola does it within the rules. Even then he is just doing whatever he can do. Its not like he ever gets the upper hand on these calls. He might want to stop doing them so often. The refs never give us the call anyways. Stay on his feet and defend.
look, he's got two options: 1)keep trying, and make up the lack of quickness and length with hustle, smarts, and good footwork, which at the very least delay the scorer, allowing the defensive help more time to come over 2) lay down, let the scorer go through, pray he misses an easy shot, all while the refs ignore the flop. I'm going with #1 every time.
I'm pissed off because if we end up as the 9th seed we will literally experience the worst possible outcome. Too high to get a decent draft pick, too low to make the playoffs.
