It's not that cheap, remember you still gotta pay the players every year.

Didn't he sell the team for a profit even though the new owner can't move them? How is that bad?

Now maybe it's safe to try and make a trade with the Hornets.

I have my doubts,Stern is a dictator. He could well veto any trade if he felt it was "unfair" for the league.

NBA loses ~$20 net + whatever Hornets lost this year just so that Hornets could be kept in NO?
Benson is not even that rich.

I agree. At least get rid of New Orleans- city doesnt like basketball and the franchise is relatively new.

I'm glad the Hornets are staying in New Orleans. I'm a big fan of the city, and they deserve a team as much as any city in the league, certainly when you compare them to some franchises I can think of. The Kitties on the East Coast come to mind.

so then why Paul Allen could buy the seahawks in '97, when he already owned the blazers since '88?

the sonics still existed till 2008.

so that means he owned the seahawks, and owned the blazers at the same time, while the sonics were still in seattle.

    Im confused.

the nfl rules aren't that you can't own a football team where another owner has another sports team, it's that you can't own another sports team where it competes with a different nfl owner.

Ie you can own an nba team in a non nfl city and then own an nfl team anywhere, you can't own an nfl team and then own another sports team in any nfl market.

When you think about it, he doesn't need to be in reality. Though, he can be a good building block for the Bobcats.

Yes, because nobody travels to the Final Four, so all those people supporting Kentucky, Kansas, Louisville, and Ohio State must've been from New Orleans.
