Again, it was a stupid trade for Memphis at the time, and I readily acknowledge that they had no idea Marc Gasol would be THIS good. But also note that the rookie scale salary structure has made it so that many top Euro prospects under contract in Europe sort of HAD to fall into the second round in order to be sign-able within the next several years. I know that was the situation with Nikola Pekovic, who was taken exactly at #31. Several teams with first rounders wanted him; but they knew he wouldn't sign the rookie scale salary. Hence, Minnesota gladly snapped him up with the first pick of the second round. A similar situation applied with Omer Asik, I believe.

Yeah, David Andersen--who netted the Hawks at least a future second round pick and (I think) some cash--is a better example, although I think Llull (who seems to be showing more NBA talent than Andersen did in 2009) would fetch more than the Hawks got for Andersen.

Dragic on Llull on this team would give us 2 point guards that play basketball differently than Americans. That would be really cool because they both do a lot of unconventional stuff and it would give us a bit of an advantage. Not to mention Scola and Motiejunas.

    Uninformed opinion.

No, don't want to lose Dragic. But don't want to lose Llull in the process.

Given Dragic is a free agent this summer and has been playing extremely well, I already consider him gone.

You can't pay two PGs good money and I doubt Dragic would even be able to be retained.

That being said, I don't care about Llul, we need to get another PG when Goren takes off for greener pastures.

You make it sound like KLow is making max money or something. KLow is only at around 6 million a season so his salary should certainly not prohibit us from resigning Dragic. You can't blame money tied up in one position as a reason not to resign Dragic.
