If you could time travel to one specific year and be allowed to change or experience only ONE event from the past what would it be? I would have loved to experience the Gettysburg Address from ol' Abe. .................. F*** it. I would have just went back in time to save him from John Wilkes Booth.

November 22, 1963 Call in an anonymous threat on the president. Maybe they'll put on the bullet proof cover.
Ancient Library of Alexandria http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Library_of_Alexandria "stimated to have stored at its peak 400,000 to 700,000 parchment scrolls" unfortunately burned down and we were set back 300+ years of advancement.
I would go back and wipe out religions(Islam, Christianity). But why stop there? Go back a thousand yrs and give knowledge to humankind and by now we would probably be a "type 1 or even a type 2 civilization" as to how Michio Kaku theorize it. Any how time travel is not even possible.
If you have read any time travel science fiction you'd know it's dangerous to mess with the past. Butterfly effect anyone?
The problem with changing history is there is always the problem of unintended consequences. For example if 9/11 could've been prevented how do we know something worse couldn't have happened?
That's what I was going to say. I would go to Dealy Plaza and look behind that damn fence. I wouldn't mind going back to WWI, finding Adolf Hitler working as a runner in a trench somewhere and killing him. That would have saved a lot of people a lot of suffering...
What I'd like to go back and experience or change isn't an event but a time period. I guess the closest I could come would be to go back to 1610 and prevent the assassination of Henri IV of France.
I'm not gonna lie. I'm gonna go back in time to win the $650 million lottory jackpot(since i know the numbers) or something similar.
Just be glad baby Hitler gave us a real taste what a real war does with just grenade and bullets. If we never had that war imagine having WW2 during the nuclear age.
