great piece... http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/40409/killer-lineup-the-rockets-grenade Goran Dragic | Courtney Lee | Chandler Parsons | Luis Scola | Samuel Dalembert Minutes Played: 157 Offensive Rating: 112.6 points per 100 possessions Defensive Rating: 96.4 points per 100 possessions How it works offensively Very well, thank you.... That was a great read. I think Dalembert's impact even by goaltending is underrated and while he is a little uncoordinated, he can finish and he is a true 7 footer. His jump shot also isn't terrible.
I am not too thrilled with Dalembert the last couple of games, it seems the benching has killed any motivation he might have had before, which he already didn't have a lot of. Maybe he thought coming off the bench was just temporary because he was a bit under the weather, but it seems Camby is and will stay the starter. It might be a killer line-up when Sam gets his mind right like he has in maybe 15-25 games this year, but under Marcus our opp PPG has gone way down. We have improved a lot with Camby so I think that's the killer line-up, not with Sammy.
Technically, our current starting lineup is the worst defensive starting lineup we've had all year. But they have played a tough schedule.
Reading too much into it. Dalembert is a pro. Somebody needs to tell the author Parsons was drafted in the 2nd round.
"If the defense leaves Chandler Parsons open, the undrafted rookie will lift to a spot on the perimeter" Is it really that hard to get your facts straight?
Stated that line up defensively is not elite or very good but relatively above average..... except for blocking shots......
Ironic that you're the uninformed one. http://basketballvalue.com/teamunits.php?year=2011-2012&team=HOU Current starting lineup defense is even worse than when Hill and Bud were starting.
This is not our best lineup consistently, imo. My gut instinct says the point differential is that good, not because of Dalembert, but because McHale will yank his ass when he's not doing anything out there, and won't play him with the starters.
That lineup has only started getting minutes in the last month. And anyway, why wouldn't he pull Marcus when he's not performing, the starters have just as many minutes played, relatively. Our current starters have played 7% of the minutes in their games and the Sam lineup has played 5%.
