I had a great 1st date last night, but had to get home to my DVR of the Rockets, so shepherded her to the train rather than driving her home. she won't answer my text's now. oh well.
LOL ... that is when you DVR the game and stay away from your phone or any other tools that have internet
Well the games start here around Mid-day. So I do night shifts, 12 hours -4 days on 4 days off. In the 4 days I get off I can do whatever I want. So it hasnt cut in my social life but maybe cut into the typework I do. I hate my job but I am reluctant to leave it because I can watch the NBA and do as I wish on the 4 days i get off. The other kinds of jobs I wanna do dont have night shifts. Bummer.
The Rockets usually play at around 2am local time here, i have my phone set to alert me of end of quarter scores. Basketball is not shown on TV at all here, so I have to make do with watching the highlights on my phone or on here. When the playoffs arrive however, i'll be watching on my laptop.
Rockets games come around 9am in the morning, so I watch live unless I absolutely have to go to work or do errands (like take my mom to the hospital). Unless it's an emergency, I schedule those things on mornings when the Rockets are not playing. That's why I finally got League Pass this season. It makes me less antsy and cranky when I can't watch live. It doesn't bother me knowing the results beforehand. I log on to this site so I know what was the outcome, then I decide which quarter/s to watch. Yeah, I love my Rockets more than my social life.
We're all in the same boat, my friend. My measure of thumb is at what point in the season it is.. Beginning? I'm glued to the games. HAVE to watch.. December/January? Depending on if we're playing scrub teams I can sacrifice a few games to be social and attend the gala. But really after the all-star break the importance of me being in front of my computer screen every tip off becomes increasingly vital. During the last stretch of the season?? The ONLY thing that will keep me from screaming at my cpu would be performing, networking or something career related. Play offs??? No brainer, bro. I've gone as far as canceling dates because I got my days mixed up and a huge game was on lol If a man is hungry, he has to eat. And I have nothing but an appetite for my Rockets.
I was 'going to business meetings or seeing clients' (if you know what I mean) when Rockets games were on. They usually start at 12:00 or 1:00pm down under in Australia. AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!!!
