Why oh why don't people focus on this? If people looked at their socioeconomic statuses instead of race they would find out they have a lot more in common across many if not all aspects of life. Sure crime is a serious problem in many black communities and I don't think anybody is denying that but it is a serious problem in many poorer communities as well. Blacks are more than 3 times likely to live at or below the poverty level but nobody wants to focus on that, let's focus solely on race because apparently nothing else factors into it.

They also probably lead in home burglaries and UUMVs (vehicle theft). See that with my own eyes as well.
Why are they below the poverty level? Blacks have every opportunity afforded to them. A poor black male can get a free education in 2012. They don't want take advantage of the opportunities provided.
This isn't accurate. I will say to try and put all the blame on just society or prejudice isn't accurate, nor is it accurate to pretend like there aren't disadvantages. I think there are numerous reasons for each person, and they are almost as many different reasons as there are people.

Exactly. There is no easy answer. Some people just don't want to work hard to achieve those things that don't come easy. And it has nothing to do with race. Those that are born into poverty tend to stay that way. Those that are born into wealth tend to stay that way. How smart someone is also has something to do with it too, in many cases.
Incidentally, why is there so much focus on white on white crime, and black on black crime, but none on man on man crime (pause, no homo, YOLO etc.)
Latinos have been jealous of Blacks for the longest. Its gotta kill you guys that a lot of the stuff popular today.. the black man invented. Hip Hop was once thought of as garbage by non-blacks... as of 2012 its the fastest growing genre of music in the WORLD among youth. Latinos have tried embracing rock music, my theory is to start a movement of their own that many other races will follow. Well guess what a black man invented rock and roll as well. All the death metal and stuff you hear otday was first influenced by a black man. Not to mention we dominate sports, mexicans are doing well in boxing. But even then the black man has a better legacy in the sport. Now MMA we are taking over. And even today when mexicans dominate boxing, and blacks rarely box anymore( because of money). The best 2 boxers in the world arent even mexicans. The greatest futbol( soccer) was of african descent. I can go on and on. So if even if the Illegal Aliens outnumber both whites and blacks combined as projected in 15 years. It wont mean anything. Other than America will become a 3rd world country, and the history of america is still founded on the white and black man. You cant erase years of history.. that built this country
They are two completely different arguments. To say that blacks are more violent and more likely to be criminals on a percentage base simply because they are black is silly and basically being a bigot. Again, their race has less to do with the crime than their poverty level. You can theorize why blacks are much more likely to be poor all day long if you want.
Maybe because in the last 160 years they've been held back through Slavery, Jim Crowe and Discrimination? Once you start a cycle that actively puts a group in the cycle of poverty, you can't end it without actively trying to end it. But even small steps, like affirmative action draws such a big counter response that no one have any real political capital to do any real action.
What school gives you a free education simply because you are poor and black? I know plenty of schools that give money to students, of all races, in need, but those students still have to meet other criteria besides being "poor and black". And those funds are typicaly aren't just withheld for black students. So please, enlighten me. If there are schools giving out free scholarship money just for being poor and black then I will happily share all of this information with the poor blacks that I know. Another thing we never focus on is comparing our poor to poor people elsewhere. We always want to down the poor/lazy people in our country and compare them to folks who immigrate over looking for a better life, as opposed to comparing them to the poor/lazy folks in their own country who have also just accepted their current standing. There are poor/lazy people everywhere who are fine living in poverty or don't want to take advantage of the opportunities that exist there. It's silly to make the comparison to one of the few with the drive to escape that situation, since it takes some sort of drive to leave your country for a better life.
