The Rockets are going to have to trade Scola this offseason unless Rockets win championship this year with him.

your right, but every NBA player nevertheless has ups and downs. Parsons played worse than him in the blazers game

The only one player on Rockets team that I mostly want to get rid of now is Scola because he's just good only at jumpshot and layup but bad at everything else.

Id have to agree with DD here on the play calling. McHale should not have gone away from the P&R with Scola, & Dragic tonight. Scola is a floor spacing big. He has a crafty post game, but not against those long/athletic teams that consistently kill the Rockets. The P&R might have forced the Jazz to go smaller and ultimately helped them win the game.

To his credit though, Lowry single handily got the Rockets back in the game taking the Jazz 1 on 5, but it was almost too late then. The gameplan from start was flawed.

If there is a big shame to this season, its that guys like Patterson, Morris, Dalembert have not worked hard enough in the offseason to improve enough to beat out Scola.

I love Scola, but you know damn well that the front office would love for one of these guys to step their game up enough to even make McHale question taking them out of the game to put Scola in.

Morris get a pass because of his questionable transition to the wing spot, but the Power Forward position is anything but locked down by Scola long term because he is a flawed player by nature. Great lockeroom guy, and plays his A$% off, but he's flawed, and teams will continue to milk that weakness more and more as they get closer to the playoffs.

Even if you take in what I just said in an earlier post, they CANNOT, and SHOULD not give up Scola until they find a better solution.

Their gameplan relies on an inside post up threat who can draw a double team, and open up shooters. Scola is all they have right now. Taking him away would only give them two options.... P&R, & straight up jump shooting. Could make for some ugly games of basketball.

So yes, they need to find a better solution at the post position, but you just cant get rid of Scola until someone either steps up their game, or they trade for a better cast of post players.

If you bench him he'll get exposed.

I've figured it out. Scola can post up and succeed against bad Power forwards. That's it. He gets owned by legit Bigs unless their name is Pau Gasol. If he just accepted reality and concentrated on setting up mid range jumpers when he plays PF who play defense he's succeed.

Our front court will be a joke if we were to get rid of Scola. Fidgety Patterson as our Starting 4? Yikes...

This actually goes for the entire team, but please stop trying to draw charging fouls in the fourth quarter unless there is a legit chance for it to happen.

The refs will never call it, or more than likely call a blocking foul on you, and they end up going to the line. It just seems that way. Play some damn defense. Move your feet.

I've been tired of it. He is extremely bad at flopping. He's also too experienced to still be doing things like consistently blocking a driver with his shoulder. It's too obvious. Contest the drive, shot, but stop sticking your shoulder out. Man up, stay up, play D. Stop playing like youre 6'5.

What a knee jerk thread. Scola had been solid the last few games, but now after one bad game (which everyone else also did), and people already back to bashing him.

It's not a kneejerk thread. Scola flops way too much, that's regardless of the loss.

I'm not here to say Scola is terribad or that we should trade him or that someone else should start or any other knee jerk response to tonight's game.

I'm only going to say that I was yelling at my TV tonight for Scola to play basketball on his feet.

We get defensive when other people say the Rocket's are the worst floppers in the league or when Shane calls out Scola by name as a flopper, but the truth of it is it's damn near unwatchable even for us fans.

Play like a man damnit. We know you're tough. Play like it!

All you scola haters are p*****s they were like 3 for 16 beyond the arc. How many times was chase going to shoot another brick. Scola is the only one who can score in the post on the roster period!

He dominated the Lakers the other day. NO WAY we win that game with out him. This site flops around on people so quick it's crazy.

Scola was not the only one who had a bad game. You can't put it on one player when we shoot 36% from the field.
