what is the point of you mentioning that you have many black friends? Showing credibility that you don't have some sort of stereotypic view towards blacks or to vindicate these views? You have some pretty messed up views, but I don't blame you. Everybody stereotypes. It's okay to stereotype, its in our genetic code to do so, but it's not okay to stereotype and then follow somebody and shoot them.
phew! for a second there i thought this was coming from a biased 16-20 year old kid who had no black friends at the time.
you seem particularly distressed by Zimmerman even being charged. Innocent until proven guilty, right? What do you have to worry about? From what you posted the entire past month, it sure does sound like zimmerman has alot of evidence backing him up. Why would you say "justice is done in america" when (A) this is due process of the law (B) this is the due process of the law and (C) this is the due process of the law?
I have seen some of the behavior described by eddiewinslow in convenience stores. However, my experience in dealing with black customers was generally more positive than my experience with white ones. Perhaps things are different in the convenience store setting than in other settings. I would not really know.
Sorry... Just like GZ got coaching from his dad... the "retired Magistrate Judge for the supreme court (sic) of Virginia" http://www.abcactionnews.com/dpp/news/crime/zimmerman-dad-worked-as-magistrate
So you don't trust in the system or the law of the land? A few weeks ago you sounded like you were fully into the whole "self-defense, stand your ground law". But you're not in favor of due process because you know for 100% sure that it's going to be somehow biased for Trayvon?
Had to host folks from Ireland for work last month.. Said virtually the same thing as Winslow.. Didn't attack them and won't attack Winslow.. Just will ask why he thinks there is a difference and how he suggests we improve the situation.. And is it really the saggy pants?
I see a mob being whipped into a frenzy by professional race baiters and I don't see how justice can prevail in the face of this mob mentality. If I had to put a percentage on it, I think there is less than a 5% chance Zimmerman can get a fair trial.
People said the same thing about the OJ trial and Casey Anthony.. There is a good chance the case will be moved... People have strong opinions on this case both ways..
So how do you suggest Zimmerman be tried? Is there any other possible way that can be considered fair? I have no idea what you're upset about. He's going to get a fair trial, based on the evidence provided, right? How are you to know whether if he's truly innocent or not? You are already on the stance that he is fully innocent. You don't know, and I don't know, and nobody will know until the trial and until each case is made. That's called due process, and they teach us this in middle school. Nothing's wrong with it, as you are implying.
well tell that to the original prosecutor who decided not charge gz after the chief investigator recommended that he be charged
Your jury pool makes a HUGE difference in the outcome of a trial, bias is a serious concern, especially in high profile cases... But the Judge will questions jurors and so will the lawyers, and obviously biased jurors will be excused... Further, I am sure the defense will fight hard to have the case moved to limit possible tainting of the jury pool.
He didn't decide not to charge. Zimmerman, he choose to have more investigation done prior to deciding to bring charges. Prosecutors often times wait to charge someone, especially when there is strong circumstantial evidence. I think the issue is the stand your ground legislation, it is a very strong hurdle to get over for a prosecutor... Then you usually have to convince a grand jury... Then a judge ... This is ALL prior to a jury hearing the case... So prosecutors want the matter completely investigated in questionable cases.. I would love to see the file on this case, so we can see the level of investigation.. That would tell us a lot.
It's a terrible mess. I would not be as upset if a few things were different: First, this is mob rule pure and simple. Second, because this is mob rule, I doubt that Zimmerman can get a fair trial. Third, it's very obvious that Angela Nifong Corey is over-charging. Fourth, based on her opening statement, it's clear that Corey went into this case to appease the Martins and not to seek justice for the people of Florida. Fifth, I am bothered by the very unprofessional behavior of Eric Holder and another DOJ official whose name escapes me. Finally, pending new and unknown evidence, I think Zimmerman is innocent.
Florida has a curious aspect to their statute that may protect Zimmerman in a civil suit as well. Of course, I don't see him getting a fair criminal trial, so this may not matter.
