from the theon/asha(yara) meeting: i thought the absence of is page/squire/stewart, whatever he was made the whole thing less than what it was, but with the time investment i can understand why they left the character completely out of it i dont remember a head being sent back to danearys from the book, do i just not remember that happening or is that something they added tot he show?
Spoiler It is actually Theon's uncle that picks him up at the dock in the books not Asha. In the book Theon was expecting a huge reception meant for a prince and all he got was his uncle. He met Asha later in the book when he was at the docks inspecting a ship that was being built. Asha was posing as the ship builders daughter so Theon would not know who she was. I don't recall any of Dany's blood riders coming back dead.
Just got picked up for season 3: http://winteriscoming.net/2012/04/hbo-renews-game-of-thrones-for-a-third-season/ Hopefully they split Storm of Swords into two seasons and don't try to cram it all into 10 episodes...
Spoiler There's no way. I think they'll be confident enough in a fourth season getting picked up that they'll plan to only get partway through Book 3. That said, I don't think ASoS will need 20 episodes as some are suggesting. 15 should be enough, so I think Season 3 can get through 2/3s of the material in Storm. In my mind, that would have the third season ending with the RW and the sack of Astapor. That's still a lot to pull off in 10 episodes, but it's definitely feasible. That would leave Joff's wedding, Tyrion's trial and escape, the beginning of the Mereen story arc, and Jon defending the wall and Stannis breaking Mance's army for Season 4, plus plenty of stuff from Feast and Dance.
According to this it looks like they'll use events from SoS, aFfC and DwD and mesh them together in season three and subsequent seasons. They won't try and cover all of any of the books in a single season. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/game-of-thrones-renewed-season-3-306981
Great news but I think the bigger question is will GRRM finish the story before HBO completes all the books?
dont you remember the mute who witnessed theon fondling his sister, and then he was also there when theon found out it was his sister, Spoiler it makes me wonder how they will introduce theon's uncle as his religion plays a role in how things are starting to happen in feast for crows, in which i am in the middle of
Spoiler RW would be the ideal way to end season 3, and there are so many big moments in the 2nd half of SoS that I would rather see it expanded into a 10 episode 4th season.
Spoiler to tell you the truth, i'm still not over the red wedding, i dont know how i'm going to take seeing it come to life in the show
I think there is plenty of material to fill up additional seasons just be going slower with the story in the future if they are worried about catching or passing the books. Plus Martin has allegedly already told the writers how it all ends, even if he hasn't written all the details on how he gets to that ending.
Yeah, hopefully GRRM has detailed notes on how the story progresses and ends so another writer could come in and finish the work according to his wishes in the unfortunate event that anything should happen to him.
We first see him as a POV character in FoC. I don't think it would take away from the story if that is where the series first introduces him. At this point that seems like the only place it can hapen.
Yeah, watched the first two episodes back to back last friday. I felt pretty confused....forgot who certain characters were. I should have watched season 1 again.
Asha(f!ck Yara and the stupid decision to call her Yara) was also one of my favorite when she was first introduce in CoK. Such bad ass. I'm a bit disappointed with the casting and how they introduce her in this the second episode. But Pyke looking freaking awesome. The production design so far have been knocking this right out of the park and exceeded my expectation. Great job!
