Good on the people who gave. It was a leap of faith that you took, but that's what makes us human. It always gets me when people question the intentions of beggars, and tell them to, for example, "get jobs". They have a job already---scrabbling around and selling their dignity for pennies. Do you really think a beggar wants to make money this way? Begging is a last resort. We all have our pride and dignity. The moment you beg is the moment you lose all that. Our entire lives have been built to tell us that if we need help, we're weak, that we're not men, that we should be shamed and bow our heads. It's not as easy as saying "hey, I need some cash." Even pretending to be that desperate, and throwing yourself open to the sneers, and gazes of society is a hell of a lot tougher than any 9 to 5 job in my opinion. I see what beggars go through. They're ostracized, ridiculed---you can see it in this thread, but I also challenge any of you to find a beggar, and just stand there with them for half an hour or so. Notice just how many people ignore them as if they're just some dirt. Notice the frowns, the insults. "Get a job, loser." I guess that they lose whatever confidence they once had. Any notion they have of belonging to the human race, I think, kinda disappears after the 10000th time they have waved and been ignored. At least at McDonalds, people acknowledge you when you ask them if they want fries. Sympathies to the OP. I am willing to chip in a few dollars, if the guy is still around.
What really did him in for me, was the claim that he had been unemployed for 2 months and had no money for food or bills. Then, he had pictures of food and new items that he bought last week. If a guy says he has been broke for 2 months and has no money to buy food, I believe him. If he does the same thing and shows multiple pictures of items bought as late as last week., I bet he had money to buy food. It was a lie, because he did have money to buy food within the last week. Forget about 2 months. The other silly thing was that he got rejected for unemployment benefits, because of his resume. His resume only showed that he worked for Krogers, Blockbuster, Sonic, Mcdonalds, a washateria, and a gas station. The Unemployment office won't reject people for being laid off from McDonalds, instead of Microsoft. There are millions of people on unemployment that came from food service. The unemployment benefits application does not even have a spot for resumes. If you have a crappy resume and can't find a job, it's even easier to get 99 weeks of unemployment. If you have a great resume and find a new job, you will be kicked off unemployment benefits. A great resume is actually a handicap for staying unemployed and receiving unemployment checks. I have helped former co-workers (real unemployed people) apply for unemployment benefits. It was clear that he did not aaply for unemployment benefits and get rejected for his resume, because he worked for Krogers, Blockbuster, Sonic, Mcdonalds, a washateria, and a gas station. If he had applied for unemployment benefits, he would have known that the Unemployment Benefits Application does not require a great resume to qualify for benefits. Here is a tutorial with some screenshots. Unemployment Benefits Application Tutorial: http://www.twc.state.tx.us/ui/bnfts/benefits-tutorial.pdf It was another lie.
Hilarious. I can't believe this thread blew up. I purposely avoided this thread cause I thought it was some loser trying to scam people. (Scam in the sense that while he's down he's not out there starving, at least not enough to ask for money.) Can't believe I missed out.
Actually, yes. It doesn't apply to many, but there's definitely some out there who do it because it beats sitting at home and making no money. Who knows what's the case here, but some people have no dignity to sell.
c'mon man, I don't think anyone takes that literally that he hasn't had money for 2 months. It's just like when a student goes through a series of exams and says, "I haven't slept for days"...yet, they've slept 5 hrs a night for a week.
For all the people who want to give money, please give some to the homeless people outside my business. They live on Bellaire, from Kirkwood to Boone. They're homeless and beggars. If you paypal me, I promise to donate it to them. I'm not kidding here. And as I've stated throughout this thread, I'm neutral in this fight, but feel like the best hope the OP has is getting a job, unless he already lives with family and has work and is just mentally off. But all you people feeling sorry for this man, please also feel sorry for the homeless who have to sleep in the Houston heat everyday.
He scammed Clutchfans. He used one of his random accounts, so he wouldn't have to live with it in his time here at Clutchfans.net. Just use a different account after making his $$$.
You're gonna sit there and seriously think his last one was even remotely funny? They're not even clever anymore. Best one by far was "I'm literally in tears.....laughing my ass off" and I don't even think that was Antec.
