Oh god, stop. You guys need to stop playing semantics, I've used the words [followed, pursue, or trailed] interchangeably, because it constitutes the same thing. Zimmerman did not follow the proper instructions, if he did . . . this young man would not be dead. 1. Why was there an altercation in the first place? At some point, Zimmerman got out of his car. Why did he get out of his car, if he was not intending to confront or question someone? 2. Stand Your Ground ... at what? Zimmerman was in a vehicle, driving, and armed. Victim did not have any weapons, and was I don't really know . . . probably minding his own business. Why did he get into an altercation with a perfect stranger who was unarmed? That makes no sense to me, when it comes to self-defense. It never will. Why would I have any need to stand my ground in the first place against someone who was minding their own business, did not posses any weapon, and a dispatcher told me that they will handle it. Again, not drawing any conclusions, but the self-defense argument does not make any sense unless Zimmerman escalated the situation himself. Most of all, why does Zimmerman's accounts sound so differently with different authorities.
This is a colossal **** up brought to you by the same race warriors who brought us the Tawana Brawley, Crown Heights, and the Duke lacrosse case.
Yup. Truly terrible stuff for Holder to say: As most of you know, three weeks ago, the Department of Justice launched an investigation into this incident, which remains open at this time – and prevents me from talking in detail about this matter. However, I can tell you that, in recent weeks, Justice Department officials – including Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Tom Perez, and United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida Robert O’Neill – have traveled to Sanford, Florida, to meet with the Martin family, the community, and local authorities. The FBI is assisting local law enforcement officials. And representatives from the Community Relations Service – the Justice Department’s “peacemakers” – are continuing to meet with civil rights leaders, law enforcement officers, and area residents to address – and to help alleviate – community tensions. We’re also communicating closely with local, state, and federal representatives and officials. In all of these discussions, we’re listening carefully to concerns – and emphasizing that the Department will conduct a thorough and independent review of the evidence.
aren't you gonna first wait for the trial and see the results of the investigation, evidence, and eyewitness accounts?
Don't be a steaming pile of excrement. The publicly available evidence shows that Zimmerman is innocent. Perhaps there is other evidence not known, but he is innocent at this point in time. This, pending more info, appears to be a political persecution on the part of Angela Nifong Corey.
You know, it is possible for Zimmerman to be both responsible for Martin's death and also be a victim of a witch hunt. These two things are not mutually exclusive. There is a middle ground here, where Zimmerman is neither innocent nor a racist assassin looking for his first trophy. It's a pity that middle ground has been trampled by race hustlers and media whores.
It is truth that it is good, finally, we can have an official inquisition, and hopefully, it will satiate the external duress surrounding the swirling nature of the developments of this case. I seriously doubt it, but still, I hope. However, the inaction of the Sanford authorities has denied Mr. Zimmerman, whom I consider to be a murder and a liar, his right to evade trial in the court of public opinion to the point that it affects his ability to a fair legal trial and defense. I see no way this guy can get a fair trial, which is in itself injustice, even if he is a murderer and should be locked away. Murder Two seems a fair call, but the befuddling of this case has likely botched any true north of justice being served. It is just excruciating that after all the clamoring, this is still just a sad, sad saga of wrongful death of a young boy, that could have been avoided, and that the lessons learned from which will likely be drowned out by the dogmatic cacophony of media noise that the month-long lapse in response has produced. Knowing what I know about the case, which is admittedly circumstantial and fourth-to-thirty-fifth-hand, I'm not even sure how justice can be served here, either for Trayvon or Mr. Zimmerman.
Now the wingnuts are going to concoct a conspiracy theory whereby Angela "Davis" Corey, a Republican state attorney, appointed by a Republican governor is really a "race mole" who has been lying in the weeds just waiting for her chance to railroad an innocent half white guy for the murder of a really scary black teenager. This will be good. See the resemblance-
I'm just happy the evidence will be heard in trial. I'll be fine with whatever verdict comes out of this. If I follow the trial, I'm sure I'll have my own conclusions, but either way I won't be too upset even if I disagree with the verdict. I feel like this is the best opportunity for justice to be served. I'm surprised that it wasn't manslaughter charge as well. 2nd degree murder isn't what I was expecting.
