Unless it is a very minor charge, I don't see how they can get a conviction.
Is he guilty or murder (manslaughter at the least)? Absolutely.
Can they prove anything with the ridiculous laws and actions of the police? Absolutely not.

Hung jury is the most likely outcome I guess, but you never know. OJ was 100% guilty but his defense made it work. There have been innocent people convicted and sent to the chair as well.

I'm not sure how they can get a conviction either myself but that's their job to figure out.

This whole enterprise back here is nothing BUT a debate and always has been. We are outsiders looking in.

I've never said that GZ should not be charged; I said it was imprudent to call him a murderer. I've countered the reconstruction of events to line up with the finding of the investigators.

Exactly, this tragedy would've been avoid. That young man should not be dead. I do not understand what is so hard to comprehend about that. It has nothing to do with black-on-black crime, Trayvon's personal life, Zimmerman's personal life, and etc.

Zimmerman was supposed to do what the dispatcher said, no one gave him any kind of authority to pursue, follow, or question anyone. He was not an official authority figure. I have to question is he deprived of simple comprehension skills, deaf, or lacking a certain level of competence. It doesn't seem like the dispatcher said anything beyond basic commands.

How do you know he pursued him??? I listened to what I believe is the whole tape, nowhere can you tell if he deliberately followed him, or if he was following instructions to get the address and was approached by Martin on his way back to his car.

I think they are claiming the authority to pursue comes from the Stand Your Ground doctrine which overrides a citizen's duty to retreat.

Still waiting for the evidence to be verified to draw any conclusions.

and at least now there's a venue beyond blogs and message boards to vet that evidence....

from 's'all good...to 2nd degree. Makes the original decision to pass on manslaughter seem even more laughable.

But are you the neighborhood watch captain for your friend's complex? If the answer is no, then what reason would you have for knowing the building numbers?

the whole stand your ground law has been taking in the wrong context simply due to the arbitrary definition of the term "self-defense".

You cant FOLLOW somebody, INCITE an argument/fight and then SHOOT them and call it self-defense. Self-defense isn't protecting yourself after you have made the initial steps to start the altercation; it's you protecting yourself when you did little/nothing to incite the altercation.

The authors of the law have publicly stated the law wasn't intended to include a "pursue clause" but unfortunately the law doesn't specificaly state as much (yet).

So it is a legal loop hole.

Now GZ will be arrested (justfully so) and will stand trial.

We no longer need to speculate. We can wait for the judgement and then I'm sure we'll all be back here interpreting the result. But it is now in the hands of the justice system. Lets let them do their job.

your right..you can't. However we still don't know if Zimmerman actually INCITED THE FIGHT. the argument, yes..but not the fight. That part is in question. If Martin attacked Zimmerman, then Martin may very well be acquitted. If Zimmerman attacked Martin, then the prosecutions case is much easier.
