    I love our boys but..

    Come on now. If anything at this point we should have learned to take the superstar. On name alone.. Deron brings hope of superfriends.

    I'd take the best out of the 3. That would probably be Deron then...

    I did not vote, like some have said, torn. I love the combo of Lowry/Dragic, but I do not think superstars respect their game yet. If we can get the duo and an elite player can come, I'd do that over Deron. If we are going to be a brand like the Heat, we need Deron. There should be an option for Rafer.

    Let's look at a comparison of Deron Williams vs Lowry/Dragic
    First
    Rockets 32-25 6th in the Best conference
    Nets 21-38 11th in the Least conference
    (even with a double double big man, who also blocks shots)
    Fg. 3pt. Ft
    * Deron Williams .411 .343 .844 3.40rbds 8.6ast 1.19stld .38blk 3.96to 21.3pts
    * Kyle Lowry .421 .385 .863 5.10 7.1 1.78 .30. 3.13 15.4
    * Goran Dragic .469 .359 .783 2.40 4.9 1.25 .16. 2.14 10.8

    As an individual he scores more points and overall has a few more assists ( not taking into account Dragic's starting numbers, which earnt him player of the week honours)
    But his team doesn't win, ours does.

    In saying that, if Deron would bring an extension signed Dwight...you know the rest.

    Deron is so overrated IMO. Dragic and Lowry > D-Will and some scrub backup

    I voted D-Will in this poll. I wonder if we would still have the same landslide results for Dragic-Lowry if we started this poll today. LOL

    Oh and by way, i voted D-Will when Dragic was still killing it. Deron Williams is a superstar poiny guard who will also net you another superstar or two.

    Love Dragic and Lowry don't get me wrong but if it's D-Will we're talking about.. It's an easy pick.

    I would bet the results would be different. I'm still torn myself. I don't think this skid changes my views of Lowry and Dragic. Our achilles heal is still our interior D. There's only so much the perimeter guys can do.

    The other thing offensively is that it appears to me McHale is changing up the offense since Kyle came back. It appears to me that we have gone back to setting screens for shooters instead of setting multiple picks for the point guard up top. This fits Kyle but doesn't fit Goran. Goran is most effective when he gets multiple picks to rub his defenders off and discombobulate the defense. Kyle likes to run set plays to pass to shooters coming off screens and then penetrate off the space created by spreading out the D.

    I am having some second thoughts about these two guys playing together, though, for an entire season. It's what we have right now and they are probably the two best guard defenders on the team. So, I really like them defensively. I don't know about the long term viability of them playing together offensively unless there is an adjustment to the offense. Kyle is wasted when he has to stand on the wing or come off a screen on the wing and Goran is wasted when he is standing in the corner. Goran is most effective with the ball in his hands and unfortunately so is Kyle.

    I'm still torn on them or DWill because of Kyle's trade value. If we could make a trade that gets us a high pick in the draft OR if Kyle along with Scola, Dally, Patterson, etc. is enough to net us a quality big like Dwight, then I still like re-signing Goran.

    i still like the Lowry/Dragic combo because Dragic can play 20 at point, and 15-20 at SG, while Lowry can play 30 at point. Those guys are not the problem. Our biggest problem is that we don't have a good PF. Also, Courtney Lee is very inconsistant at the 2guard. Bascially, we have too many one-dimensional players. We have one-dimensional centers, one-dimensional small forwards, and one-dimensional powerforwards.

    Again, we need to retain Dragic and keep Lowry, and start over. blow-up the team and rebuild through the draft. We are not a Darron Williams away from contention, especially considering what we would have to give up to get him.

    D Will is a superstar, and as I remember hearing correctly, you should ALWAYS go for the superstar. Lowry and Dragic are playing allstar caliber seasons, D Will plays on another level. I love Lowry and Dragic but I would take the risk on D Will as he is a game changer.

    This kind of thinking is the very reason the Rockets are where they are right now. People here once thought that Ariza was going to be an all star since he was just being held back by Kobe in LA. Others thought Aaron Brooks was the next big thing. Or remember some people were saying the Rockets were going to be the 2nd seed last year?

    This, Dragic & lowry overachieved, they reached their ceilings. People don't seem to understand that.

    The Rockets win because they overachieve, we haven't had an actual great player for years now.

    I'm sticking with my original choice.. Deron Williams. I'd take D-Will any day of the week and watch him take over a basketball game.

    I love Lowry to death, but honestly... Deron Williams and it's really not even that close.

    Even if Deron were an average PG right now (which isn't even close to being true), his presence alone dramatically improves your chances at getting another star player.
