He said he wants to be in Houston. To my mind, that makes it almost definite. Morey will pay the man; the money isn't even a question IMO. Why wouldn't he pay Dragic an AAV of $10M+ when he already paid that to Scola? Dragic is better now than Scola has ever been.

    From Daryl !!!

Daryl Morey ‏ @dmorey - Most important gm of yr for playoff odds is tomorrow vs UTH-96% playoffs if we win! We need your support. http://www.rockets.com/ 4 tickets!

    and from me to Daryl.

@dmorey Most important offseason target is Goran Dragic, playoff odds go up 200% every year if we have him as the starter. :)

HAHAHA! You REALLY think there have only been two overpaid players in the league ever? Lewis, Arenas, Joe Johnson, off the top of my head for the most egregious ones...

I agree. Someone will offer him a lot of money, more than we will be willing to match.

We could try trading Lowry before or signing Dragic, but I don't know how the timing works out.

If that happens it only proves that Daryl Morey and the Houston Rockets are NOT committed to putting a championship team together.

You can not let "HIGH UPSIDE" talent walk out the door for no return.

That would be the definition of poor management and I refuse to believe that DM is that stupid.

    Hear, hear.

I also hard to believe that Morey will let Dragic go without a serious attempt to re-sign him. IMO, Morey will match whatever other teams are offering and then sort it out.

I disagree. Letting Goran go is not necessarily bad management.

I think it is. Unless he gets offered an exorbitant amount, and by exorbitant I mean the max or very close to it. He's played himself into a $10M contract and if Morey refuses to pay up, Dragic walks, and becomes a superstar for somebody else, it will be a world-class debacle to make Linsanity look like absolutely Linane.

Well that's what I'm saying. If someone offers him something crazy then its bad management to match.

Holding on to a upcoming PG who is a UFA is going to be very difficult.
I want him him to stay, but I think he will be gone.

Why are the poll options "Yes!" and "No."? That attaches a certain emotion to each word that I don't willingly share. I wanted to vote "Yes." because it wouldn't be my dream scenario but because I assume they'll sign him. But seeing the "!" that implies I am excited and fully support the sentiment I won't vote because it feels wrong.

He will get at least what lowry got and maybe a little more. Teams like portland, utah, and even the kings would pay him and he would start. Hell, the pacers might see him as an upgrade. He's played well and I love the fact he tok advantage of his chance. also to note, there is no match, he's going to be ufa.

Yes, but the Rockets can offer more guaranteed years, and higher raises per year...we have his bird rights.

if Dragic is a goner, hope it's a sign and trade in exchange for a high pick or good player..

I think this question would be easier to answer if we had a better understanding of what we could get in trading Lowry. Then it would be:

    A) keep Klow and let dragic walk
    Or
    B) pay X amount more for Dragic + what you could get in trade for Klow

I love Lowry, but if he would net a significant enough return you'd have to figure that into the consideration of paying more at the PG position with Dragic. 35-40/4 yrs doesn't sound so bad if you get a significant upgrade at another position or at least a high potential prospect.

What do you guys think DM could get for Klow in the offseason?

That doesn't mean much. They can't offer him a starting job. Take the homer glasses off and be dragic. Would u take 6 yrs and 36m from houston off the bench or 5yrs 30m and start for utah or portland?

Houston can guarantee him starter minutes... about 24 minutes.....
    and rest Lowry more.
