Haha.... there are no loyalists..... Morey is the GM not a player.... it is not common to change GMs like one's underwear or like players....

I said before he might be a Top 5 GM... but surely he is Top 8 and that is good for me.
I do criticize him, but he is the most active guy close to the trade deadline. TBH I like it.

    I agree, somewhat.

Dragic however is the best out of those 3, if he walks it will be a bad deal for the Rox.

Morey is not stupid, he knows how good Goran is now, I doubt he lets him go without a good fight, and an offer better than anyone elses.

LOL so DM can't ever succeed he can only fail? That's your point right, it doesn't matter how many players he gets right, if he lets even one dude go, then he's a massive failure.

Let's be real here as well, which players did Morey let go? Von Wafer? Aaron Brooks? Lin? Really, which player did Morey let go that became a big player?

You've rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, but not me. This crossed the line. Even though I knew there was no option to pick up when I saw the thread headline, I got excited. Screw you for getting my hopes up. Lol.

To call out DD for the ridiculous posts he continues to make. I take it you're not familiar with his posts... One minute, he claims to understand the game better than anyone and says he could coach college ball. The next minute, as it serves to back his next ridiculous argument, he says "I'm just a fan! I'm not paid to understand these things!" See the problem?

Point is nobody can see the future and sometimes people surprise you, no matter how good you are at recognizing and acquiring talent.

I mean we're really going to criticize Morey for not locking up Dragic when he's the one who GOT US DRAGIC in the FIRST place??? Morey and the Rockets have done a pretty good job of turning an unbelievely craptastic situation into something special. But he can't hit a bullseye everytime.

I doubt Goran can make a bad Blazers team look Sun like...... He is good but I doubt he is Nash. I think he is a very good player, allstar worthy in our I don't know what-system.
It all depends on the style of team.

I can't remember which guy it was, but there was a NBA analyst or sports reporter that was a guest on 610 shortly after the trade deadline. He was on MaD radio. They asked him what the thought on Morey was around the NBA and said that most believe he is a top 5 or so GM in this league.

They also asked him about the trade with the Lakers and he said he thought it was a good trade, but if you asked people in LA what they thought, a lot would be worried that somehow Morey got the better of Kupchak, because the overall belief was that he is the smartest GM.

    Anyone else remember that interview?

    A. The fact that he even gave those guys a chance on the cheap showed that he was capable of recognizing they had something.

    B. Two of those three were let go primarily because the Rockets already had too much talent at their positions. I mean Lin is still not as good as EITHER Lowry or Dragic, and Williams is still not as good as Lee, Parsons, Martin (when healthy), or arguably even Budinger (at least until we get a larger sample size of this level of play from Williams).

    C. The third of those three is still here, but just may not end up being underpaid if we end up holding onto him.

Morey must really be doing a hell of a job if the only thing people can complain about now is a possible mistake he hasn't even had the opportunity to make yet.

Nah, if Morey signs Dragic to a deal this offseason, it will all be good.

If he lets him walk for nothing (something he has not shown a propensity to do other than TWill - then I will not be happy.)

It's unrestricted free agency... If Goran does not feel like signing here, he can sign elsewhere. There is always this possibility... not a favorable one.

    Following indicators

Possible grudge because Morey tried to include him in a deal for Gasol which was nixed

    Money......

    Starting Job....

Better position to win a championship

    Phoenix?

Gogi never spoke about what he really wants yet.... so we can't say anything.

Rox can offer more money and more years than anyone else. if they do that and he walks......nothing to be upset about.

Actually it is like a lottery... I guess we have a slight edge.... 49.6% that he signs here.
