I didn't say he was a scam artist (although it is implied). From everything he has posted, it certainly seems like he is scamming. If he was so hungry as he originally posted why didn't he simply follow my advice and locate a food shelter or church, rather than seemingly spend the entire day at the library?
Doesn't necessarily have to be an annual type of thing either. I'm not sure who would be in charge of such a thing, but I think it can be done. Give it to a deserving CF senior who demonstrates good work ethic or GPA. Have a committee to keep up with everything and vote if that's better.
Don't let anyone take away from what you did bro. I got nothing but respect for yall. Even with all the "evidence" nobody know the dude's real situation. But this thread read like the Pygmalion play. Sound like he tasted the high life and now facing the low reality. I guess it's hard swallow pride because maybe it's all he got.

Hey guys, since everyone is in a generous mood, can I get some free money also? Don't mind the fact that I already have a full-time job, I just want to spend someone else's money. So who wants to be the first to "donate"?
I'd be happy to donate towards a college fund...or anything that has to do with underprivileged or handicapped children.

I'm coming very late to this thread but have actually taken the time to skim through all 32 pages. I am not surprised things didn't add up with this guy. I became very suspicious about half way through when he said he was posting from home after earlier saying he couldn't afford internet and had to post from the library. Whether this guy really is a scam artist or some guy who has made terrible choices giving money isn't going to help him. I applaud all of you who did and you have good hearts but from everything I have read so far either you were scammed by someone who doesn't need it or you have just contributed to his continuing irresponsibility. The money you were kind of enough to donate him might go to getting him by but they might just end up also being spent on frivolous items. Also since he has found out he can get money this way I get the feeling he will try this again on some other site. There is one thing that really concerns me about this situation. Can anyone verify that he really is living with a mentally handicapped kid? If he is and he is responsible for the care of that child Child Protective Services or its Texas equivalent needs to be contacted to look into that kid. If he really is having to beg online to make ends he obviously isn't position to adequately care for that kid. If this is using that kid as part of a scam that is not a safe place for the child. Even taking him on face value some of the things he has said about the kid (he is always gaming, he is always angry,) shows that there are some real problems with that home. I don't live in Texas and am not sure how much I can follow up on this but if you Internet detectives have tracked down where this guy lives and that this kid is real something should be done for the kid's well being.
BmwM3 I believe you when you say you're not scamming with this guy, but please give us a more detailed account of your interaction with him. This guy is obviously going down in CF.NET lore so please give as much info as possible.
