You'd think Portland would start to get the hint that messing with Houston is bad karma. They stole Roy from us, look at Roy now. They stole Fernandez, where is he now? Oden's turning into a LESSER version of Sam Bowie? That is just leftover karma from them trying to weasel around on Morey's coattails all these years. My first thought when Lowry was laughing was not positive, in fact it shows that everybody knows since Morey doesn't show loyalty, they won't either. I hate what Morey and Leslie are doing to our team because they might seem fine now, wait until the offseason when money starts talking. As soon as Lowry leaves and or Lee & Dragic sign with another team, they are going to tell the truth or at least hint at the fact they liked it here but felt unappreciated or something like that. With that being said, even if Morey would like to keep both, it's not going to be a fun ride. Two good players who both feel they should start can never co-excist, at least as far as I know. It's something about humans, call it ego, that people cannot let go. I remember in Denver with Robert Pack & Abdul-Rauf, they were two different types of players (one deadly scorer and the other a great passer and true PG). Abdul was the starter but dissappeared in the 94 playoffs, Pack stepped up. 94-95: Pack starts and Abdul-Rauf pouts, saying he had never seen the top scorer getting benched. Next thing you know, 95-96 Pack is gone and Abdul-Rauf is the starter again. I have a feeling Lowry is going to stay and take that starting role again and Dragic will go somewhere else.
I cant believe some people on here are talking about loyalty. Morey the asset collector is our GM and tried to trade him once already. On top of that he has to compete with our other "best" player on the team for a starting spot. I just dont see him resigning here to be our backup. I hate to see him or Lowry go but hopefully we can resign Goran and flip Lowry for a proven big or top 5 pick.
The fact is that Goran is not worth more than Lowry (who at a MLE price is a bargain), but will be paid as such. Let Goran go, focus on locking up Courtney Lee, find another home for Martin, and bring Llull. I bet Llull can step in and be a solid replacement at a fraction of the price.
So who else is uncomfortable with all the laughing at the end? To laugh they need a joke, and the trigger word was "Houston".
