It's speculation but with no GM anybody's guess is just that unless they are in the know with Paul Allen. But there is some logic behind it. History shows Paul Allen has never been afraid of spending money for players. Even knuckleheads. He'll put a cap hold on Batum which will still give him enough to sign Dragic to pretty much whatever he wants. All reports of Paul Allen wanting to sell the team are false. He has denied it and so has his confidant Larry Miller. The sense is he might even be more involved in the team than before. He hasn't hired a GM which means he is running the show. He is the one who gutted the team for a youth movement. He knows the Roy, Oden era is over and wants to rebuild around LMA and Batum. IMO he does not want to go through a long rebuilding cycle. He thinks they can find their Wallace replacement in the draft. Plus some big help. They might even throw some more bucks at Pryzbilla if the prise is low. That leaves the pg spot. They will go hard after Dragic because he is the best available free agent point guard not named DWill. Ok Nash is also available but he wants to win now and they want youth so no match there. All these people who are saying 6-8 mil don't know. They are just throwing out a number based on what they think it will take to get him. And they are not Paul Allen. In the end it is his decision and if he wants Dragic he will spend whatever it takes to get him. It will take more than 6-8 mil. It will take more than Scola's deal. Morey knows losing Dragic will mean losing his most valuable asset to date. Dragic and Lowry are the best players on the team. Last night they showed they can coexist on the court together. I was really impressed how they moved it up the court and it almost seamed seamless. Keeping Dragic is essential. ANd we have the edge. But make no mistake about it. The doors are open and loyalty was the first thing to go out when Houston traded him earlier. In the end he won't stay here for loyalty. He will stay here for money.
I was watching the Portland broadcast on League Pass. Late in the game, Dragic got into a scuffle with Matthews and the announcers said something like, "Cut it out, guys! You're gonna be teammates next year!"
Love Kyle and Feigen face reactions the whole time Goran saying he want to be a rockets. It's up to Daryl Morey and hopefully he can stay. The 4th pic you can see Feigen giving the Portland reporter the look, " that's right he's our man back off".
Seriously? Lol I think if the Rockets make a good playoff run and Dragic continues to be the reason why (strong showing in the 2nd round...) then there is no way in hell the Rockets let him go. It's not like the team is strapped for cash, everyone they have on the Roster outside of Scola is on a value deal and Martin is a expiring next season. They have the cap space to re-sign Dragic if they think they have found a all-star player. So Portland needs to hold up. Man they always tryna mess things up for the Rockets.
Keeping Lowery & Dragic would be having a fine double edge sword. I hope the Rockets will be able to swing it. It is going to be expensive to do.
Expensive????? Both guys together won't make what DWill is going to sign for. That is dirt cheap my friend.
Hahahah its so funny how initially you see just a portion of Lowry changing, then next minute he's pretty much beside Dragic naked.
