This guy probably is legit. He looks like the kind of guy that would not have cash after being out of work and not bright enough to quickly get a job. Make fun all you but I bet he is having a rough time, all of his own doing.
A whole load of BS about needing money. If you are laid off, you get 99 weeks of unemployment with all the federal extensions. My company had a mass layoff, all kinds of people got unemployment from a pregnant woman to a 59 year old grandma that was living on unemployment until Social Security benefits kicked in. It pays $426/week($1700/month) in Houston, which is plenty for a burger and some gas. It pays more than a minimum wage $7.25/hr. Once you take out FICA and SS taxes from the minimum wage job, he would make less money than sitting on unemployment. That's why you got the 99ers, who make more money collecting unemployment than taking a minimum wage job flipping burgers. Yeah, you aren't rich. $1700/month is still better than working as a cashier at Walmart or Home Depot. That's not even counting food stamps or the gold card for free health insurance or the other handouts.
