    Wow. only ten games left. It's been quite a season. The rockets can't let up now. facing a lot of teams hungry for the playoffs as well. I'm sure they know they can't let up at any time during these next crucial ten games. We just have to go out there and want it more. I believe the rockets can do it and hopefully make some noise in the playoffs. If the rockets can at least go 5-5 and jazz go 6-3, suns go 5-5 we will make the playoffs!

    schedule analysis for these three teams. Extremely optimistic for the rockets. just trying to be kind of realistic.

    Hou next ten games:

    Mon 09 @ Portland (L)
    Wed 11 vs Utah (W)
    Fri 13 vs Phoenix (W)
    Sun 15 @ Denver (L)
    Mon 16 vs Denver (W)
    Wed 18 @ Dallas (L)
    Thu 19 @ New Orleans (L) - they have heart. trap game!
    Sat 21 vs Golden State (W)
    Sun 22 @Miami (L) if they don't rest starters
    Thu 26 vs New Orleans (W)

    That gives us a 36-30 record... could be high just trying to be optimistic. That should be enough to get into the playoffs.

    PHX next ten games:

    @MIN (W)
    @MEM (L)
    @HOU (L)
    @SAS (L)
    Vs POR (W)
    Vs OKC (L)
    Vs LAC (W)
    Vs Den (W)
    @ Utah (L)
    Vs SAS (W) - spurs will rest starters

    that give them a 34-32 record! :)
    SN: 7 of there last ten games are on national tv! WTF!!!

    Utah next nine games:

    Vs SAS (W)
    @HOU (L)
    @ NOH (W)
    @ MEM (L)
    Vs MAVS (W)
    @ Por (W)
    Vs ORL (W)
    Vs PHX (W)
    Vs Por (W)

    that gives them a 36-30 record, but not enough to make the playoffs because the rockets won the tiebreaker!

    So going by those extremly optimistic analysis', The rockets should be in the playoffs if they just continue what they're doing now. Hell, we could even make a push for homecourt if Klow starts catching fire soon. You never know, but yeah, I was just doing the teams that are out of the playoffs so far. If thing go the way my analysis predicts, all the rockets have to do is just win 5 games! just 5 games!!! come on rockets you can do it! Make H-town proud! We're all itching for some playoff ball. All I want is 1, just 1 win in the playoffs in front of a roaring Toyota Center. If we can do that, this season is a success in my eyes! Everything else is just icing on the cake!

    Need to analyze Dallas and Denver's remaining schedules as well.

    Looking like those five teams fighting for last three spots. Dallas has only three home games left and six road games.

    Rockets last 10 games: 7-3, only losses to Dallas twice and Indiana of which two were decided by the referees. The last 10 games are harder but we can be optimistic with Lowry's return and winning on the road against Chicago & LA.
    Rockets, Suns & Jazz have a tough schedule, Dallas & Denver is so and so and of course Memphis has it easy. Memphis is already in so that leaves 3 spots which will go to Dallas, Rockets & Jazz / Denver.

    We have third hardest schedule just behind Phx and Utah, which is good

    We can't lose to the few gimmes though, and we have to take at least one from Denver

    fingers crossed for the finish line biaches

    Safe to say Portland and Minny are out of the hunt. Our only threats are Suns and Jazz. We have home games coming up against both. MUST WIN doesnt cut it.

    Yep.

    Houston, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix and Utah - two games separating sixth and ninth seeds right now. Two will miss out.

    Did NOT see us going 4-0 on that road trip. Can't "give it back" by not protecting home court against these teams chasing us.

    Utah, Phoenix, @Denver, Denver and @Dallas are the next five.

    No telling what will happen, but I'm thinking...

    Houston, 37-29 (possibly 38-28)
    Dallas, 36-30 (possibly 37-29)
    Denver, 35-31 (possibly 36-30)
    Utah, 35-31
    Phoenix, 34-32

    I like where we're sitting right now, but wish Bud would have hit that 3 at the buzzer to beat Dallas...lol.

    (also think the Clippers will finish 39-27 or 38-28 to nail down 4th seed and homecourt in first round - they hold tie break vs. us so we'd have to finish at least one game up on them - don't see that happening)

    ^^^ I didnt see us going 4-0 either. Now, I think we are a definite lock for playoffs and if we do really well we might be able to finish at 6th spot.

    Im pumped.

    Looking at the standings, I briefly dreamt of passing Memphis for 5th seed. We're not far behind. Then I looked at their remaining schedule. It's a bunch of creampuffs. No way we catch them with the easy schedule they have.

    Can't overstate the importance of the upcoming stretch of games.

    5 straight, facing every single one of our rivals for the final playoff seeds:
    vs Jazz
    vs Suns
    @DEN
    vs Nuggets
    @DAL

    The home and away double feature against Denver is the only time we will have a game without a day's rest. That's nice, since no one will have a significant advantage on that count.

    Unfortunately, none of our opponents will play us in the second half of a back to back either. So no advantage there.

    All the games are critical, since every single one has a full game swing affect in the standings.

    Denver has Gallinari back, so that's not good. I'm hoping the magical Camby Man helps negate the issues we've had with their frontcourt. That had been our achilles all year.

    I'm not terrified of Dallas, given their free fall, the loss of Odom (even if he was dogging it), and the possibility of siccing Parsons on Dirk.

    Going at least 3-2 here is a must. If there was ever a time to go bonkers and play over our heads, this would be it.

    That schedule is pretty daunting. All five games are critical and the only team not playing well is Dallas. This playoff race is going down to the wire.

    We are playing well right now, plus that Lowry is coming back too, the schedule is not tough either. We are going to make the playoffs this year, believe it or no.

    And somewhere Jason Terry briefly pauses, and then continues about his lifes work of destroying the Rockets at every opportunity.

    Camby actually played Dirk very well. Seemed to be quick enough to stay in front of him and his length even bothered that "money" step-back shot...lol

    Man no doubt...smh.

    That guy brings back memories of Dale Ellis for me.

    Can we ever get a game with them where he's "off" and just struggles???

    Worst loss of the season. Could have nearly cemented the playoffs.

    Now must finish a game ahead of Utah as they own the tiebreaker.

    Which three of these teams get in??? (back to backs in bold)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hou (32-26) - Phx, @Den, Den, @Dal, @NO, GS, @Mia, NO

    Dal (32-26) - @GS, @Por, @LAL, @Uta, Hou, GS, @Chi, @Atl

    Den (32-26) - @LAL, Hou, @Hou, LAC, @Phx, Orl, @OKC, @Min

    Uta (31-28) - @NO, @Mem, Dal, @Por, Orl, Phx, Por

    Phx (30-28) - @Hou, @SA, Por, OKC, LAC, Den, @Uta, SAS
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Summary of these schedules...

    Hou - 4 home, 4 away, 3 back to backs, 5 vs. .500+ teams
    Dal - 2 home, 6 away, 1 back to back, 5 vs. .500+ teams
    Den - 3 home, 5 away, 2 back to backs, 7 vs. .500+ teams
    Uta - 4 home, 3 away, 1 back to back, 4 vs. .500+ teams
    Phx - 5 home, 3 away, 3 gack to backs, 7 vs. .500+ teams

    Dallas owns tiebreaker with us. Mon and Tue games vs. Den will determine tiebreaker vs. them. Utah owns tiebreaker vs us. We're up 2-1 this year vs. Phx with Friday's game still to play.

    Tonight's loss was HUGE. So depressing...
