Okay? But when you actually find a good player just pay and keep him. There is a reason why teams like the Spurs are elite every season even with aging players. They keep their core. Chemistry only happens when players have some time to play with their teammates.

    agree

We gotta keep Dragic no matter what. Trade Lowry, Martin, Scola (maybe) n get us something big. Future is looking bright for us.

I was fine when Rafer was traded for Lowry

I was also fine when Brooks was traded for Dragic

I would've bought Ariza's tickets to NO when I found out he was traded for Lee

But Dragic....we can't let him go!

It's only for restricted free agents.

Dragic is an unrestricted free agent.

Can Morey do a sign and trade at least to get
    something back form Dragic?
or we just let him walk for nothing.

Not unless he desperately wants to go to a team which doesn't have cap space for him. And even then, the return probably wouldn't be much.

SnTs aren't really worthwhile for unrestricted free agents anymore

I agree with some of what you said as being possible: "I hope we will keep Goran even if it means overpaying and eating into the 2013 FA cap space."

As for "foreign players" we already have D-Mo and Lull stashed over seas and both could come over this summer. Lull being a 1 or 2 guard. He can play both positions in the Euro league. We will have to see how he does in the NBA. Donatas Motiejūnas is PF & can play center (C) in the NBA no doubt about it. D-Mo has game and will do fine over here.

I'm sure Morey and his team are on top of all of this. Right now Goran is just too strong of a player to let go of and if it takes money to keep him then Les may pay it do to the fact that the Rockets have said they are committed to their idea of the NBA market price for players. Lull's play could change the Rockets value of Goran and/or Klow real fast.

I'll let Morey do the work and criticize him latter if he f**ks it all up.

I hear what your saying DD but it's just a bit over the top. You sometimes have to let other teams fall on there own swords and over pay for a player.

I want to keep Goran but are we a full championship team with him right now or do we need other players to get us there? If Klow comes back stronger than ever what will you say then?

It's just way too soon to see what the future is as players will come this summer and maybe make us better with or without Goran. The key to all of this is Klow and he was our best player before Goran got his chance right? And before that it was Brooks.. and before that it was ???? And before that it was???

See what I'm saying DD.. this team will change next year for sure, but I hope to have Goran and Klow going forward if that is possible and then there is next years trade deadline to look at.

I think right now the discussion it what people think the dollar amount will be to keep Goran here next year and can the Rockets pay that much or who would the poster trade to keep Goran and so on.

Me.. I really have no idea of who to trade and who to trade for. We are in a playoff race that is still way too close. I want us to play the post season for sure. One more injury could change the whole game.

Dragic will start somewhere, unfortunately I hope he does not go to teams in the West, who I believe will shower him a lot more than Lowry. He is 10-6 as a starter playing key games, with only 2 bad losses at Dallas and at Phoenix. There is no way no GM not see a gem what we have and not go out pay him superstar money. I trust Morey will do good for the Rockets like every offseason. If Dragic has to go, I still have fond memories of him.

So with all the info and ..uh.. numbers you put up for players... What is the right price range to pay Goran at this time and would that price go up or down in playoff preformance? Say we make it to, or even past the 2nd round?

Then what? Does his price to stay even go up from there... oh wait you never gave a number.

What if Klow comes back better than ever? How long has Klow been sick and did his sickness just one day catch up to him in the season and overtake him?

There are Lots of things to think about looking from the outside in on all of this. And sorry but what is WS (acronym/nba/slang)? Is WS worth a s**t value or some other thing like that?

I digress on not knowing what WS is, but you never gave a price to start with and after this year I really don't know what he will cost to keep.

I used D-Mo and Lull in another post in a different thread to say we have players to bring in and that maybe Lull could play the 1 or 2. D-Mo is a sure thing at PF and C when needed. Lull can play 1 or 2 guard in Euro league but I'm not sure he can play both positions in the NBA.

Your post my friend just strikes me as hormonal "reactionary r****dation" selling off the team because you now have a "Hard On" for the girl (Goran Dragic and not the other girl Klow) down the street because she grew t*** over the school summer vacation and and it's the first new day of middle school classes with her in a tight sweater and her nipples are showing.

Why don't you give us all Tony Parkers phone number and we can all call him and ask him... Then you can give out the number to all your school friends of the girl that grew t*** and you can all ask her out on a date... if you have the balls

I think the Blazers announcers said people in Houston think he is likely to sign with Portland? Mentioned in the 6-8M range.

Ha, Ha... I told everyone Portland would be looking hard at Dragic. Worrell just said he talked to Portland people and they want Dragic. They want to steal him from us. 50 million for 5 years will no longer be enough to keep him. Paul Allen has the money to overpay. If I am Houston I sign him whatever the cost. He becomes a great trade asset.

They are stupid. Dragic will cost a lot more than that.

You do know they have to resign Batum right? You think the Blazers are going to spend $20 million for Dragic and Batum? Lol.

Yes. I think they will offer 20 mil. But more for Dragic than Batum. Batum is restricted and they will play the Morey game and promise to match any offer and wait for the market to determine his salary. Batum will probably sign a Scola like contract.

I find it amusing how people get angry when I predict Dragic's salary. It's not like I want him to sign somewhere else. I wish he would sign for the minimum. But he is not going to sign for the minimum. He is not signing for MLE money. He is not signng for 6-8 mil.

If he signs for less than 50 mil for 5 years I will be very surprised. I would love to be very wrong but nothing in the market this summer makes me think otherwise.

There are some things that could change my belief. Unfortunately LOL by a you isn't one of them. If he starts sucking the rest of the season. If he gets injured. If he gets busted at some time for doing ice or crack or some other drug.
