I don't think he's outpricing us. He's definitely is making it costlier as far as dough and capspace. Nevertheless, I'm fairly certain that Dragon will be paid with Kyle likely getting dealt for quality size. Watching Gogi these days is something to behold. I mean, you REALLY see the influence of Nash in his game now. He's more under control of late, is running this team with precision, and plays biggest against the best. The guy is putting up big numbers/shooting great and perhaps most important of all, is leading us to victories over the best in the League. And he's played huge in the playoffs w/ Phoenix before. It's all systems go as far as I'm concerned. In essence, I think Goran IS in fact on his way to becoming an elite PG. Goran Dragic is worth whatever the market is ......8-9 million/yr... minus a little discount ...5 years starting at 7.75 mil/yr?
Congrats to Dragic! It would be absolutely stupid to allow Dragic to walk free with nothing in return. As much as this organization has been looking for elite talent, they just can't afford to do that and Dragic is the closest thing to elite talent this organization has had since Yao. Nothing against Lowry, I LOVE Lowry, but Dragic is proving to be just a better player with playing time and he gives us a better chance against upper echelon teams.
Ok. Just don't be too disappointed if it doesn't work out that way. If no franchise players are available, I don't think Morey will just give Lowry away for something he doesn't absolutely love just to make a starting spot available for Dragic. Lowry is a great proven PG on an amazing contract.
Morey is not infallible, well except for a few here, lol. He can miss on talent or not be able to project just like so many other gm's. It is a tough business.
It may wind up being a high draft pick who Morey thinks will be a franchise player. It may be a problem young like Cousins who McHale can get under control. It may even be a guy who is not a franchise player but is still a huge upgrade--for instance, replacing Scola with Al Jefferson.
Well, how would you feel about giving Dragic away for nothing? It's kind of the situation we're in that's forcing, in a way, a trade of Lowry. Either you keep Lowry, let Dragic walk. Or, you keep Dragic, trade Lowry. I love Lowry, but this is the boat we're in.
No, not him. Serves me right for using my actual name as my user name. Coming playoff time there might be a platoon of us.
Correct. The A Brooks Lowry dilema all over again. Had we traded Lowry when his stock was high, we would have Dragic, Lee, Parson, Camby, gasol starting lineup. Pretty solid lineup, prime for an upset.
Because he didn't come out nowhere, make a losing controversial team have a big win streak, continually score 25 points with 50% field goal, etc.
An honor well deserved, and Goran's success is driving the success of the team. Dragic is literally doing everything. Running the offense, producing in the offense, playing just outstanding defense. It's remarkable what the addition of Camby and the emergence of Dragic as a starter has done to this team, all across the board. And don't discount getting rid of the "deadwood." The team is cleaned out, and firing on all cylinders. Now Kyle is returning? Unreal! Are they selling playoff tickets yet? As for Dragic and this offseason, don't worry about it. Enjoy the level of play the Rockets are showing us, look forward to the playoffs, and let this summer take care of itself.
