Given that the Rockets just faced these two guys, I wonder which one of them people here would prefer.
Cousins. Both are headcases, but Cuz is 3 years younger, more skilled, and doesn't have an injury-riddled past.
Bynum is a completely different head-case though. He does these things and is completely unapologetic about them. Cousins....
Very interesting poll here since everybody is claiming Bynum is the 2nd best center in the NBA. Personally, I think he is extremely overrated. In my opinon, Pau Gasol is a better center than Bynum (concrete for brains). I choose Cousins.
People have been saying Bynum was overrated since his rookie year. I've been defending his talent ever since. Now that he finally got together a healthy season, we are seeing how good he can be. He has size, athleticism, and skills. That combination is almost guaranteed stardom. That said, he is as unlikable as it comes. I can't believe I am actually hating someone more than Kobe on the Lakers. And Cousins seems to have the same combination of talent. He is also a headcase. But he is at least not as despicable as Bynum.
Cousins. He's younger, has a higher ceiling and seems to be at least trying to fix his meatheadedness.
Bynum acts like an idiot because he is an idiot. Cousins acts like an idiot because he wants to win. Also one guy gets hurt often.
Bynum averages 18 ppg on 57% from the floor; Cousins the same on 44% shooting. Bynum plays like a center; Cousins thinks he's a foward trapped in a center's body.
Bynum is a far better defender...... Both are good pieces to have, but neither are franchise players.
If Bynum didn't have perpetual health issues, its not contest, Bynum all day. The guy has real size, he's got "soft hands" near the basket, and he can play like a true big man. Having said that he's 24 and still has immaturity issues that I think won't be going away anytime soon, so Cousins it is.
For me this is by far the most important factor. With Bynum the Rockets can be a top 10 defense. With Cousins it's mediocre at best. If you ask me who gives us better odds at winning a championship, then Bynum no doubt. But he also has a lot more potential to end up making the team a mess. Higher reward and higher risk than Cousins.
Right now, it's Bynum, who is little bit more well-rounded. Though to be fair, comparing them more along the lines of NBA experience and seasons. Cousins is much better than Bynum was at year two, and has got him beat several areas at 21. Moreover, Cousins is a little bit more nimble and athletic, while his moves are little more smoother. For some reason, I see more potential in Cousins as a go-to player. Bynum is a good player, but I think he is very close to peaking and if his attitude does not get any better.
Bynum is bigger and better but of the two I'd take Cousins. Bynum is just stupid and doesn't give a damn. Cousins wants to win so bad that he goes overboard sometimes and does and say the wrong things... he'll settle in a couple more years when he's older and learns.
Which knucklehead do I want? I might take Jacoby Jones Speaking of knuckleheads, why did you leave out that third knucklehead Dwight Howard?
Well, right now, Bynum is better. But I think in the future, Cousins will be better. I also think Bynum's health history is a problem.
