It's sickening some of you guys are hoping Martin's out for the season.

Uh, no. Martin lost his will to give his all on the court after the not-trade and not getting an extension. He didn't "go Odom", but it was clear he wasn't into it.

And that didn't endear him to McHale, who clearly favors defense and/or hustle guys.

I can't wait til Martin returns. He will still put up his numbers, even if he's on the second unit, and everyone will be all over his nuts again. This hate is ridiculous.

Precisely correct. Martin bashing has become a "lifestyle" on the board. I still say he is our best player overall. No one on the team has the potential to get you buckets of points in a hurry better than Martin. No body plays as well when they are injured. I sure hope he doesn't read this board.

Kmart scored 35 and 25 point while playing 42 minute in the two games before he aggravated his injury. McHale obviously liked him enough. From reports, he's been having problems with that shoulder most of the year but played through it, so maybe his inconsistency had to do with being hurt.

We aren't going anywhere with Kmart being our best player but he isn't getting paid to be our best player. His salary is consistent with being a good/great 2nd or 3rd option. Now that Lowry, Dragic, and Scola have assumed the role of first option, Kmart would be a great addition when he heals up. Think of the role Bud plays on the team but with enough ability to score 20,30, 40 points in a night. Every championship team needs that type of guy.

Thank you. And despite what everyone is imagining his shooting #s aren't even far off at all from last year.

We need him back and scoring if we want to really scare the top teams in the playoffs.

Oh well we are winning........ and that without Martin......
If he can play efficiently again, he is welcome otherwise he should fix his problems and return next year with another team, if he is to be traded.

Even if he is a 20 ppg player that he was, he is still injury prone.... as you mentioned... He is still not a consistently good player..... Streaky player reliant on his shooting, and the refs, without much of Defense......
He'll give you 30 on one night and disappears on other nights.
We cannot afford to have that in the playoffs... that is the worst thing.... that is Lamar Odom at his best.

The problem is that Lee's are better than KMart's and he plays defense.

If you lined everyone up healthy right now, CLee would beat him out for that starting spot.

Kmart's value to this team is a net zero, we don't need his skill set, it is covered in other areas and by players that also play defense.

And this is coming from a guy who likes Kmart's game.....he just is not needed any longer on the Rockets.

The only way he can outplay Lee is if he suddenly turns to Ray Allen when he was with the Bucks and the Sonics...

A 25.5 ppg scorer with consistent great shooting, 5 rbs and 4 assists.....
and really trying to help on defense....

    Not happening.....

10 games remaining, no word at all about even a timetable...I do not expect to see him in uniform again this year.

And given that it's a shoulder injury, it's going to take some time (on the court) for him to recover his shooting rhythm. Should he return, I'd rather he find his way slowly off the bench and not disrupt the continuity the team has.

It's not a problem to me. Bring Martin off the bench. The dude is a freaking assassin. With the addition of Camby we have even more rim protection to make up for Martin's deficiencies.

Lee probably is better for the team than Martin, but I refuse to believe that Martin can't help and improve on what we have going right now.

WTF you certainly don't need to play like prime Ray Allen to outplay Courtney Lee lol

I still wanna see Martin back on the court, he will benefit so much from having both Dragic and Lowry double penetrating the defense. It gives him more chances to slash and shoot open threes.

Iunno why people exaggerate so much about KMart, he's certainly not a negative on the team. When he's cold, he stops shooting and starts to pass and set up his teamate. His defense hasn't been all that bad this year also. I don't remember him ever chuck up shots he didn't need to that hurt the team.

But he is not an assassin, he is not a great shooter at all, he is an efficient scorer when drawing fouls but that has been taken away from him, exposing his true lack of shooting.

He is an average shooter, not a great one....he doesn't even shoot 45+%....

Come on, Lars.... you knew it would come down to this eventually.

    This is about asset management....
He was an invaluable asset, now he is losing his value.
I want to support the individual but getting back to contender status is more important...
It's not like he is done or he can't make money, he is still making more money than a lot of players in this league.
He is obviously not the best fit on this scrappy defensive-minded team right now, but we will be able to go to a team that values offense more.
