In the last 200 years we've probably destroyed more species, habitats, and the environment in general than in the entire lifespan of Earth combined. And even then we still don't have anything for worry about for now.

Why Mars? We still have 3/4 of this planet that's not inhabited by humans.

Charles Dickens' quote has never been more true: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times". We as a species has never been more successful, and yet we are facing enormous problems brought by our own success. I am optimistic about the future, as our science and technologies are advancing faster than ever, but satisfying the need of energy and food for 10 billion or more people will be a huge challenge.

In short, yes we're doomed. All good things must come to an end, and like it or not we will face that fate EVENTUALLY. Why live everyday in perpetual fear of that day? Live like this is your last day and everyday will be exciting and worthwhile.

F that...WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!! RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

    You are absolutely crazy.

99% of billions of species that have ever existed on Earth have gone extinct and humans had absolutely nothing to do with it.

So what? The "stat" you put in has nothing to do with anything.

Billions of species of gone extinct without humans playing a role in it. Other species have gone extinct because of the role of humans. The fact that species can go extinct without humans doesn't change the fact that humans have caused the extinction of other species.

That's not what Red said. Claiming that humans have caused the extinctions of more species in the last 200 years than the rest of entire lifespan of Earth combined is complete insanity.

Don't think of us as something separate and apart from nature. We are just a component of it. Gaia is the lifeform, we could just be her parasites. Or we could just be agents of evolution:

March 31, 2012 by Jürgen Schmidhuber TED

My final advice: don’t think of us, the humans, versus them, those future über-robots. Instead view yourself, and humankind in general, as a stepping stone (not the last one) on the path of the universe towards more and more unfathomable complexity. Be content with that little role in the grand scheme of things.

The only people who are doomed are the ones who do not realize these simple things.
    1) John 3:16 & 17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved
    2) John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.
    3)
