Really insightful there... "He'll leave if he doesn't stay". Captain Obvious or Major know-it-all?

And to address the other inane post about we could package picks with Lowry/Martin if we lose and don't make the playoffs... We can still package picks, they just defer to a later draft. Natural response: but but but dis is the best draft evar!!! My response: there will not be more than a handful of perennial all-stars out of this draft, just like every draft before it, and the GM's aren't stupid enough to think otherwise.

If the Rockets or the Knicks make the playoffs and Dallas finishes outside the top-10, then the Rockets will have no first-round draft pick this year. A guy like Jared Sullinger could be a #5 or #6; Terrence and Perry Jones in the mid to late-lottery. Um, yeah, there's no way the Rockets could have benefitted from tanking.

If you want a top 5 pick in the draft, then you'd better become a umongus Hornets, Kings, Warriors, Bobcats, Wizards, Cavs, Nets, Raptors or Pistons fan! That or pray that Les sells out to Ted Seption who then hires Isiah Thomas as a gm & Vinny Del Negro as the coach.

Did I start out with dissing you? No. Then you need to zip that trap next time you have a thought to dismiss my post. When you provide any idea that is good one for the team to follow and it ends up working out? Then you can comment on my validity. Since I have areal good track record of saying things will work out or fail? You cannot see or pull my card just yet.

Hmm. keep my thoughts to myself? lol. Hell No! You can play "I told you so" later. I'll take a ride on the 2012 Rockets right now.

Last time I looked, besides getting paid, solid upper level players want to go to teams that win. Mario is blowing a kiss right now!

How'd those first rounders on the end of the bench work out anyway?

Well there's this other funny things teams do at draft time, it's called a trade.

    Just sayin'.

it's not about gloating, it's about enjoying what's in front of you instead of living for a "someday".

Knicks pick is top 5 protected. This means we will have at least one guaranteed pick this year. Should the Rockets miss the playoffs this year, we could have potentially no picks next year. You fail hard.

I don't know why people still defend tanking this season when there were no realistic way of us actually losing that many games.

Say we traded Martin and Lowry for absolutely nothing at the beginning of the season like some tankers suggest, Do you think we are bad enough to out-tank teams like Bobcats, Wizards, NO, Raptors, NJ, GS, Cavs?

I don't know why people are dumb enough to believe we are actually bad enough to lose enough games to even get into top 8 of the draft this year even if we do trade our two best players at the beginning of the season.

People tend to think tanking on purpose is actually possible with a good team, well it's not. Name one team in the last 10 years that got a top 3 pick in the draft that didn't actually suck and lost games on purpose to obtain those records.

I don't believe you've ever addressed me, so it would be hard to start off dissing me. What you said was ridiculously obvious, and therefore, valid! Nothing was said about the validity of your statement, but internet hero it up chief, I ain't mad at ya.

To the people who like college ball (and therefore the draft) more than the current rockets team: you're telling me that Sullinger and Jones might be available in the late lotto and they might pan out as pros and if we just lost more we might be able to get them? I'll take my chances with developing our assets and allowing the chips to fall where they may with regards to our draft picks. The draft is volatile, unpredictable and often the same people who want to tank for the high picks are preoccupied by chasing down the pot 'o gold at the end of the rainbow.

1/2 game behind the defending NBA champs while losing to them in 2 tightly contested games that seemed poorly officiated = mediocrity? Only team to beat OKC, Chicago, and LA at home = mediocrity?

    I love mediocrity I guess.

I'd rather root for them to win. Tanking doesn't guarantee a championship contender. It just gives you better odds. You still need A LOT of luck. Even getting a #1 pick may only just break your heart. We've been there and done that 10 years ago.

I am with the OP. Go Rockets!

Wait until the playoffs, then you will see what the "pro-tankers" were talking about, if we make the playoffs.

.76 margin of victory slots us in the bottom half of the league. Stay the course.

How are the Rockets supposed to lose that Knicks pick again "if the Rockets or the Knicks make the playoffs"?

Well duh tanking on purpose with a decent team is hard...that's why you make the team bad. You're saying it can't be done but the Bobcats are doing it RIGHT NOW and have admitted to doing it pretty much.

They were not that bad of a team either. In 2010 they were in the playoffs as the 8th seed, last season they won 34 games and were in the playoff race.

How does a team go from being a fringe playoff team to a team looking to draft Anthony Davis? Well simple, you trade away solid vets like Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace and you find it is a lot easier to lose games night in and night out.
