    Straight outta www.brightsideofthesun.com

A very emotional poster who is a passionate Suns fan out of nowhere wrote a whole heartfelt essay dedicated to the Rockets and how he respects and loves us. It is so rare for fans of a certain team to spill great praise to another team, much less to a team like ours who's really done nothing to be in the national spotlight for many years. To read such a touching and refreshing article about us, much less inspired by little apart from the basic fundamental blue-collar things we do, is what really makes me proud of the team and organisation we have and to see this team's love and energy spread to other fans of the NBA, is truly great to see.

    Worth a read

If the Rockets had been a relevant contender the last 10 years, he'd probably be signing a different tune.

Sure, its easy to respect a team that hasn't been a direct road-block to your team since 1995. Even the Yao-McGrady Rockets never really had to battle the Suns directly.

But, I do agree... a well written piece.

Damn! We aren't the only fans that hate Stockton & Malone! Who'd a thunk it.

Nice to get respect from other team's fans.

Everyone outside of Utah hates Stockton & Malone...I'm in Australia and can't stand anything to do with Stockton, Malone or the Jazz ( or Utah for that matter).

A reply to the post from a well-balanced Suns fan..

as you see, you're not alone
only team i hate anymore is the heat. in fact, the hatred for them dwarfs all the old hatreds for all the old rivals. it’s only too bad the suns are no longer good enough to do the job, as good as dallas last year, or (hopefully) okc this year.

even the spurs taking out the heat would be delightful. they still have il re flop ginobili and le roi flop tony unibrow (since groomed), and timmy-“dirty”-tricks-like-kurt (unnecessary for hof’er), but the true truly dirty dudes are all long gone – plus the suns trounced ’em for reals in ’10.

much like the bulls, the rockets play a very admirable brand of ball, especially since floppers martin (offense) and lowry (defense) are presently out. (leaving only scola, which would be more than enough, but he plays hard all the time and is damned skilled… bonus sympathy points from the derek fisher headbutt too.) i think they’re actually better without martin, but they really have trouble getting to the foul line now. lowry is very smart and tough and clutch. it is quite enjoyable to watch dragic (again!), especially starting in lowry’s absence. mchale is clearly able to coach his players up to over-achievement, as suspected from his time on the bench in minny. morey has mega skills assembling a roster, enviably so in comparison. but not hate worthy (reserved for whom it’s deserved).

lakers? kobe gettin’ old, bynum not yet detestable enough. mavs? went from hateds to heroes, just like that. jazz and denver? dominated by suns during ssol, thus hatreds rendered irrelevant (also, melo gone, boozer/dwill – poor man’s stockton/malone – gone). olajuwon’s houston? i blame barkley equally, always did. i hate writing/talking hate, ‘cause it’s only sports entertainment and i don’t… “hate” – one has to have the capacity – but there’s really no better word. (if there is, tell what.) old ones die out, new one emerges to erase them completely….

westbrook is borderline hate-able, though. they’d best not fail. (hahaha)

That's an essay? I was expecting something more well written than that by the way you hyped it up. Just sounds like random thoughts to me.

I've always had respect for the Suns, Blazers, Spurs in the Pop's era (sigh), and Sonics fans, not the team, just the fans. Fun to see stuff like this.

As long as I'm alive, that won't be enough time for Utah to pay for endorsing the dirty Jerry Sloan style for as long as they did. They can continue to suck for the remainder of their existence as far as I'm concerned.

I don't really hate any other franchise to be honest. George Karl was the only other dirty coach back in the 90's, but his constant Illegal D has now been rendered permissible by the league based on rules changes, so I got nothing to say about his Nuggets team now. I suppose if there was a current embodiment of the George Karl system it would be the Chris Paul-led teams that collectively play no defense outside of passing lanes and then pander nonstop to the refs while flopping left and right as if the court was instead an ice rink. Yeah, I guess as long as Chris Paul is in the league I'll root against his teams too.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't rooting for them during that WCF game b/t them and the spurs.

Always liked Nash and Grant Hill. Then again, who doesn't?

I was rooting for them 1000 percent. The NBA screwed Nash out of a ring. Sad.

Nash should go to the Heat after his contract is up. Really, he deserves a ring.
