Patterson has regressed badly. I'd be happy if he returns to last years form by year's end, at least.
Another reminder how much bad that trade for Gasol was. People in here actually thought trading Scola for Gasol made us better
Scola since the trade has been shooting 60%, or better. With Camby, he doesn't have to put too much energy on defense and be tired on offense. I really hope he finishes as Rockets, a consummate teammate. That trade Gasol for Martin, Scola, Dragic + 1st Round Pick, OMG!!!!! We might have to give D.Stern a pass for the veto.
I am so pleased! Luis has a big heart, I am a very big fan of him despite his shortcomings. I was against the Gasol trade,because I always felt that Luis would fight for us. Pau never wanted to be a Rocket.
First of all, Scola was great last night. As for patterson, McHale is asking him to do something he is not comfortable with and is not very god at, play in the low post with his back to the basket. Last year Patterson had his best games when he was shooting jump shots from 15 feet. Patterson was playing with either Brad Miller or Chuck Hayes who would feed him the ball with some good passes. This year I think Patterson has played his best when paired up with Scola. Scola can hold down the low post while Patterson floats to the open spot to shoot his jump shot. Patterson may develop a low post game at some point, but we can all see he has a lot of work to do. Summer league and a preseason will probably help Patterson a lot.
well yeah, that's my point. Having a legit center that clogs up the middle and can clean up the glass makes Scola better and tolerable late in games. Scola has never lacked offensive skills. But he is slow with no hops and aging. All of which make him a liability on the defensive end. Camby at center makes all of those weaknesses less glaring. And allows Scola to shine down the stretch. So when you are throwing all this praise on Scola do not forget to send some Camby's way. That's all.
With now both DaBear and Camby anchoring center, Scola fits nicely. It was so frustrating when it used to be Scola/PPat or Scola/Jordan playing together....
Before All-Star weekend I think everybody here including me wanted his head. Now that tune has changed.
so after lastnights game i see alot of scola bandwagoners he had a heck of a game , but just dont get too excited for one game. Also saw rockets bandwagoners yesterday on facebook shm, they were talking about championship year , lets keep our feet on the ground , (I AM NOT HATING I AM DIE HARD ROCKETS FAN )
Before the the All-Star weekend we had Jordan as backup center now we have Camby and DaBear. Scola is no longer abused on defense.
Having two solid/good defensive centers really makes Scola shine. His ineptitude on defense is covered up.
I have been saying it all along but still a lot of peeps here want him traded. He is a Rocket Lifer!!
