It is a well-known fact that evil still exists but why? Let's take a look at a situation a long time ago far, far away. Darth Vader does the deeds of the evil but is in his core still good. Why do evil then? He knows it isn't good. People are so stupid.
The problem is " The Dark Side of the Force". In all seriousness, I do not know if you are religious or not but Satan is the reason for evil in the world. I believe that with every fiber of my being just as I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.
I don't know why Satan has to take the blame for this. Do humans really need a scapegoat for acting like total jackasses? I surely don't think so.
I believe that you were born with a curly tail and a snout, I believe that with every fiber of my being.
Basically there are two things which are reasons for what you called evil. 1: Some people are crazy (killers, rapists etc). 2: Most people look out for the most important person in their lifes (themselves, and their loved ones). Sometimes their interests conflict with other people. For example many people in the US see Iran as evil, while Many people in Iran see the US as evil. The same goes for Palestein and Israel.

Evil exists because there needs to be a balance of positive and negative energy in the universe. It exists for the same reason we have night and day, black and white, winter and summer... milk and cookies.. peanut butter and jelly.. sorry got carried away..

Not sure if you're serious, but that's some hippy bulls**t. Evil exists because doing bad things is often the easiest way to get what you want. Want your dog to stop barking? You can cut its throat to quickly end it, or you can spend lots of time trying to condition it to stop. Need some quick cash? Go steal it, or you can work extra hard to make a little extra scratch or even sell some of your own junk. The evil solution is often the easiest. That's why evil exists.
Evil is what our animal forebears have always been doing to survive and prosper. Taking what you want, killing things in your way, and so on. It's only that we (and some other species) have found evolutionary advantage in cooperation. So, actions that comply with cooperation for the greater benefit of the whole were called virtues, and actions that benefit the individual and the expense of the community were called sins. It is in the individual's best interest to engage in sin to maximize his personal success while preventing others to engage in sin to minimize the personal cost of the success of others while enjoying the fruits of cooperation. The friction of enforcing cooperative behaviors and finding ways to game the system for personal benefit creates evil. I know it's a mock thread, but I think there is a good reason why evil exists (and racism too) and a good reason to think it always will. It would be irrational to not be evil.
My response was pure sarcasm... but I could see that evil solutions are typically easier.. but what about being evil for the sake of being evil? when it's not a solution to anything.. for example someone who is a serial killler??? one can argue that it's a mental disease.. but why does this evil mental disease exists???
