Lebron started talking about 2010 free agency in 2008. Yes 2 years while under contract he started uttering out phases liek 'mark your calenders to july 2010 and it will be NBA history', there is no otehr way http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-lebrontampering112608 This guy marketed the hell out of it. The head of his marketing company is his hs buddy, if you think he didn't know that they were negotiating an ESPN Special WHILE the CAvs were in the playoffs that is just silly. The guy has a hand in everything he does and lied ot us all saying he didn't pick a team till the morning of the show. The guy put his teammates under the bus, the cavs were noted to have let him use the plane, break team rules openly, and he aid its all about winning but he HAND chose those teammates that he complained about and then didn't want any criticism from his team, staffo r managemnt, they needed him enough so they did it. But don't say he was quiet about it, he was just more savvy about it and I am glad he got exposed too. Both of these guys, Howard, Lebron are int he same boat. Anthony is pretty close and Paul after(paul handled it best in my opinion and you can say his honestly was about winning given where the new orlean hornets were, but can't about the other 3s agenda)
lebron wanted the cavs to get him a true sidekick. he wanted amare to come to the cavs. that didn't work out and he went to were he felt he could succeed in the future. he most likely would have stayed in cleveland if the cavs made that amare trade back then. http://articles.nydailynews.com/2010-12-02/sports/27082932_1_james-and-dwyane-wade-cavs-knicks
because you know him personally? that's why i said "most likely". people forget it was a bunch of events that lead up "the decision" that changed how everything planned out. lebron even wanted bosh to com to the cavs. the cavs just could not attract anybody to play there
I choose neither. My first inclination is to choose Stan, but I don't like that he went to the media and talked about something that should have been kept quiet on his end. I guess he was trying to garner support from fans and media when he is fired by making it look like he was forced out, but I think that's what everyone was going to assume anyway. I also can't really get behind Dwight wanting to take the easy road and get a coach in there that will baby him and allow him to run things. We all know how this soap opera is going to end. SVG is going to get fired, a known player's coach will take over, and then Dwight will get traded next season or go elsewhere after his deal is up at the end of next season.
I don't think Lebron ever wanted to come back after he realized Drew effing Gooden and Delonte West were his #2's. I don't blame him for it, I just don't think there was much of a "decision" to be made. The Cav's management is freaking horrid.
What's in the past is in the past. it would have been interesting to see how the landscape of the nba would have changed if the cavs got either amare or bosh.
Trade his ass! Are you kidding? SVG might not be the man, but you can't let the guy who is probably going to leave after next year tell you what to do. You should be able to get a decent haul for Howard. I would give him up for whoever get #1 pick.
Did you read that article which was years before, do you see any mention about winning? He is teasing around about cities, their appeal, etc. You can apologize nad make assumptions but fact is lebron could've made any trade they wanted, and if not they could've had free agency, he had the keys to the franchise. IF lebron wasn't interested in aNtawn jamison ,you better believe they didn't get him. He did and that is what happened .He got players who would play to his stregnths with people like you apologizing for him when it works out. Lebron was going for marketing first and foremost, he wanted to make a splash. that is what he is about that is why he has a marketing company, the heat intro looks like a music video, he has his little decision. He was marketing that for 2 years as you can see in the article. Amare has said a bunch of things, he just stated his opinion. Look all the signs above are there with lebron and how he went abotu it, talking about it for 2 years and just like dwight he didn't want any blame and covered his tracks well. They would be number one in the east just like magic and he would talk about all he wants to do is win. EVeryone knows these two are after star power and thats been some of the reaso nthey haven't closed the gap mentally despite being such complete ball players. You can ignore it and apologize and say its bc they didn't give him amare....but thats just false
lol you can't be serious who could the cavs have acquired through trade or free agency? steve kerr denied the amare trade with the cavs bosh did not want to play in cleveland boozer wanted to go to chicago joe johnson re-signed with the hawks who?
Both are talented but one of them doesn't give his full effort every night. The best players give it their all every night even if they hate their situation. See Kobe, Lebron, Durant, Wade, Kevin Love. The guys that think their at that level but in reality are not decide to play half assed to get their way. See Melo and Dwight Howard. The talent is there but you wonder if the heart is.
It's kind of funny that JVG would disagree with most of the voters here. He basically said flat out that there are many great coaches in the NBA who can do a great job. But that there's a huge difference between the ability of different players. Long story short: The Magic can't replace Dwight Howard because he is one of the top 5 players in the entire NBA. But SVG can be replaced quite easily.
