Not too shabby for 2nd rounder, eh?? Now, if we can make something out of Morris by next season things may look pretty nice.

    Well deserved

Parsons would be a top 10 pick easily in last years draft

I think he is worth a top ten because of his defense. But most teams do not value defense the way I do. 10=15 at best.

    Parsons rookie comparison:

    -Defensive Specialist
    -Good, thought not freakish athleticism
    -Uses size to his advantage
-Has ability and potential on offense, but inconsistent jump shot hurts efficiency

Wish he would take some free throw lessons though.. Hell Chuck Hayes is a better F/T shooter. lol

I bet we see "Hack-a-Parson" if we make it into the playoffs.

    Good news !

But we could have had number 3 and 4 on that list.

One of those guys wouldnt have been on that list. Same can be said with Faried because he would have been playing behind Scola and Patterson. Whose to say how high Marcus Morris would have been on another team? None of these players are finished products.

Revist the 09 draft in 5 years. I love Thorpe and think he's more insightful than most, but this is still all about whose doing the most right now, as was the draft order on draft day 2011. It was all about who was ranked the highest at that point.

That being said, good for Parsons. He has one of the brightest futures of any of the rookies in the NBA, but your splitting hairs by saying you could have had the #3 & #4 person on this list because one of those guys wouldnt be having the impact they are having right now.

I've never been a believer in Morris, but Parsons' emergence softens the blow of him (likely) not panning out. You could throw in any later pick in our #14 spot, but lets be real - Leonard was the most likely "alternate" scenario...and Parsons is very similar to Leonard. Vucevic may have been the best pick in that respect, as he's a legit 7 footer with a nice offensive game (we weren't looking at Faried at the time).

I remember being really impressed with Faried while watching the combine last year.

Morris hasn't shown much, but I see Michale putting in plays to get him touches on the block. Once/if he catches the ball I think we will see something special...

Personally I think Faried could/would have beat out Patterson with his play in Practice. As disappointing as PPat has been this season there was no one on the roster Challenging him for his spot (Hill, The Beat). I think Faried would have taken Pat's spot for the simple fact he can box out.

I would rather we had taken Kenneth Faried or Klay Thompson at last 14th draft
