I apologize for jumping to conclusions of your oversimplified description of Mao in order to promote an agenda...that's what I thought you were doing, and if not, then I was wrong. Anyhow, Mao didn't redistribute wealth to gain popularity...dude was already popular. He actually was pretty victimized in his early years, which might have contributed to his extreme paranoia during his ruling years. Anyhow, the main point I was making was that Mao railed against eduction, wealth, enemies, then friends, everyone...he was crazy.

But you completely ignored the Cultural Revolution and the whole point of the reference when you were responding.

How exactly can Obama threaten SCOTUS? What is the theory? That if they overturn health care, what will Obama do??

Per capita, these are still the best candidates since Clinton/Gore/Dole/Kemp.

If only you'd found a way to make fun of his name or the purity of his race this would have been a perfect post.

Newt Gingrich once suggested that the US government should send US marshals after "activist" judges. Maybe he'll try that.

I will too. How about we make a deal? If SCOTUS deems the law unconstitutional, I'll self-ban myself from D&D. If they declare it legal, you do the same. Let's see how much faith you have in SCOTUS.

I have kept thinking Romney will hit his stride, find a message and run a good campaign... Now I am wondering... He has absolutely no direction or message and doesn't seem comfortable in his own skin.

He is aimless, one week taking a half hearted swipe at Obamacare, and not addressing the elephant in the room, Romneycare... The next week he is telling stories about his father laying workers off and closing plants.. Then he is calling Southerners "you people" in awkward interviews...

When called on it his advisors say the positions will change for the general election.. Playing into the flip flopper persona.

The guy inspires no one, just a sad state of affairs for Republicans at the national level... If he wins it will be as anti-Obama.

I don't think it's so much against higher education than it is about kind of what Harvard represent, which is "elite" both financially and intellectually. And this sort of thing is used all the time to rile up average joes. Especially if you look at revolutions throughout history. It was actually more useful in the past, since education was generally something only rich people could afford.

Yes, it's ironic and sickening that Romney would say such a thing when he's much more representative of this elite class than Obama. But the message itself is quite effective and used more than you may think.
