this signing will hopefully work, Boykins is a veteran and can help out, he's one hell of hard worker I still remember the magic overtime he still holds record for, question is only how long will he actually stay in Houston
Hopefully he can do this for us: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62qeVCgKwu0 That's very AB like, dribble dribble dribble and hit a clutch shot
I got a feeling Lowry isn't coming back this season and will be traded this offseason. So keeping Boykins around is a good idea.
Sign him for the year, never know what could happen... Besides a vet like him and camby bring strong locker presence even if he isn't playing he will help us..
Lowry missed significant time already this season, you really want to bank on him being back? Boykins is a pro, if Lowry is fully healthy he won't mope about it, so there's no downside. Don't see why you would be against a move like this.
Why not give him a guaranteed veteran's minimum and sign him for this + next year? In case we lose Kyle / Dragic, we need a veteran.
Gogi/Lil Earl/Fortson (with time) will work out just fine. We need to move Lowry/Martin/Scola for 2 superstars
Did we steal earl from the Knicks? http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2012/04/rockets-prove-they-can-play-on-lakers-level/ “At the time I signed (the initial 10-day contract with the Rockets) I was actually talking to another team … on the cusp of the playoffs just like they were here,” Boykins said, without naming the other team. “I just felt this was a better situation for me.
Kind of interesting that Earl signed a 2nd 10-day rather than a rest-of-season contract because (as Feigen speculates) he wouldn't agree to an additional non-guaranteed year for next season as most younger free agents (like Fortson, Marcus Cousin, etc.) have in the past. The Rockets love those non-guaranteed years in contracts big and small (Scola's has one, Dalembert's has one, Brad Miller's has one, and so many of the minimum guys), which gives them the flexibility of using it as a trade asset (to one degree or another) even beyond the useful life of a player. It reminds me of the Wolfram & Hart "Standard Perpetuity Clause." http://buffy.wikia.com/wiki/Standard_Perpetuity_Clause

Great news, now let's hope McHale uses him as we were fine with him in the rotation. Should've seen the court when Dragic and Lowry were stinking the place up against the Suns.
