220 is really light. That's like SF territory.

I find this extremely important. He's a PF and keeping him at that position is the best thing for him and the team. His size, speed and quickness create a mismatch on the floor for defenses. His post game as a 4 is polished enough to succeed efficiently against most 4's in the NBA.

We need to realize that just because he's 7 feet doesn't mean he has to be a Center. Ralph Sampson was best suited as a PF and his game flourished before injuries. Find a defensive 7 foot Center in the Draft or just keep Dale and Camby and Donatas will shine IMO.

I don't believe he's 7ft/ 220. Not unless those pictures/video are really deceiving. He'd look worse than rookie year Yao and he doesn't.

Is anyone really worried about how many threes he takes? He's got the same body type as Yi Jianlian, so I don't know if he's got enough power to carry over his post game. I've got no problem with bigs that can stretch the floor, but he only shoots ~30% from downtown.

Well, it's definitely not Kevin Love status, but 30 percent from your center aint THAT bad, right?

It's definitely a great start and something to build on.

It's Europe so it's probably in Kg. 222kg = a solid 489lbs so I think he'll be just fine at the center or power forward position. Now 215kg is only about 473lbs so we might have to get him on some protein shakes if these numbers are right.

Weird, watching his videos, it didn't seem like he's that light. But perhaps he lacks the muscle? I'm sure the Rockets will get him to hit the weights when he comes over, like they did with Yao.

Look at him... there's no way he's that much skinnier than Dirk Nowitzki. Dirk is listed at 237lbs and Motiejunas looks the same weight as him.

    I don't doubt it.

When you watch both guys play there's no doubt that Dirk is bigger and stronger.
I think the D-Mo pictures are a bit deceiving, because can't see his weak base/legs.
Some of that is genetics, though I wouldn't worry about it too much as he's still only 21.
He'll never have a base or legs as strong as Chuck did, but I think he'll fill out just fine.

I just would be careful to expect too much, too early of him next year.
(That's especially directed to those who keep insisting that D-Mo will backup whomever at center. I just don't see that at all, unless you're talking situational/matchup related minutes.)

I don't think you want him to put on too much weight anyway... I think 230 would be good. You don't want him to lose his quickness.

Just wanted to say thanks for the updates, guys. Makes it easy for us to follow him.

    Nowitzki is 245. 230 for a 7'er is too lite. Kirilenko is 225, right, and he's 6'9.
