In 2007, Harrell missed the entire season following right shoulder surgery. On November 20, 2007, the White Sox purchased Harrell's contract, protecting him from the Rule 5 Draft. Harrell made his MLB debut on July 30, 2010, pitching six innings and allowing only one run in a 6-1 win over the Oakland Athletics and immediately returned to the Triple-A Charlotte Knights. On May 29, 2011, Harrell was recalled to take the spot of Tony Peña, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list. Houston AstrosHarrell was claimed off waivers by the Houston Astros on July 8, 2011. His first start with the Astros was on September 2 against the Brewers. He finished the 2011 season with a 4.50 ERA, 15 strikeouts, a 0-2 record, and a 1.72 WHIP.
Buck and Ruggiano it is. Who else will join J.B. Shuck? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Roster move: JB Shuck optioned to Triple A OKC.</p>— Alyson Footer (@alysonfooter) <a href="https://twitter.com/alysonfooter/status/187378842384596993" data-datetime="2012-04-04T03:19:32+00:00">April 4, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Not official. Most of the roster is known, but there are still a couple of spots that aren't locked in yet.
Don't know much about Ruggiano or Buck...would either one of them qualify as a "speed off the bench" type of player? I'm just thinking of defensively...if Schafer has to miss a game here and there, are either of these guys speedy? I know Bogey can cover CF, but I envisioned Shuck filling the speed role off the bench.
Sigh.... false alarm. A Jose Altuve RBI double and a J.D. Martinez 2-run homer gives the Astros a 3-2 lead after 5 innings.
Weiland coughed up the lead after an RBI triple from Alexei Ramirez, who scored on a Kosuke Fukudome single

These 25 guys will be trotting out onto the field at Minute Maid Park this Friday. In the event that Jed Lowrie has to go on the DL, Brian Bixler will be on the team. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Bixler will make the club if Lowrie goes on DL</p>— Brian McTaggart (@brianmctaggart) <a href="https://twitter.com/brianmctaggart/status/187655688422567936" data-datetime="2012-04-04T21:39:37+00:00">April 4, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> http://brianmctaggart.mlblogs.com/2012/04/04/astros-set-the-25-man-roster/
Luhnhow valued keeping the young guys. Surprised that with Schafer coming off injury that they would roll with 4 OFs.
Downs is probably the emergency outfielder. Let's hope the team doesn't suffer from the ignominy of back-to-back 100-loss seasons
13 pitchers? I don't see why you need to keep that many. I guess Mills can have fun changing pitchers as often as he likes. So much for having pinch hitters available though.
