What do you guys make of this? If you watch the video you'll see that this girl was a pretty vicious piece of work herself and probably had something coming to her (especially by walking away from the crime scene), but the one ex-officer makes a good point by saying that it doesn't seem like the officer actually gave her a chance to comply to anything. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Tu-shg_yirY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I forgot to mention that this video is old. I just recently ran into it and wondered what others thought.
What did I think of the gif? The cop should be in jail. Don't know a damn thing about the context, however. Don't really care. No way the cop should have taken her down like that, unless he knew she was armed, or had been chasing her for a long time and she had committed a violent crime.
Typical pig. Over-excessive force. He should be dismissed and he can suffer on the fact that he made a big mistake and now is jobless.
That's the thing, I can only find that the cop was being "investigated" and that he was on leave from his job after the incident. Nothing further. Incidentally, she had the cops called on her initially for aggravated assault (she was drunk) on both a teacher and her mother (her mother called the cops) and then proceeded to leave the scene of the crime... I've read some comments around on the internet about that take down move being a common tactic used on drunk people, so that could've been the cop's idea when someone told him she was drunk or something. The problem is, the video only shows actions, not words, so we don't know what kind of logic anyone was using.
There is much more to the video before the .gif, but still seems excessive. She was drunk and fighting with her mother when the cops arrived. I found an old story, but can't find the update. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1383924/Police-officer-Patrick-Larrison-takes-drunk-teenage-girl-15-violent-attack.html
Seems typical - open an 'investigation' and then wait for the attention to die down. I couldn't find any recent information at all - it's all from May 2011. I bet this sort of thing happens a lot.
Nothing to be said. Another dickless cop abusing his authority. No doubt he got a small slap on the wrist while his buddies chuckled. And they all still wonder why everyone hates them. ****ers.
Yeah, that's why I used a qualifier, but even so, I don't see the need for such violent force based on the bit I watched. I guess context rears its head here. Did it justify the cop's action?
I guess the tape showed the girl originally being held down by her mother after being drunk in an alternative school, assaulting a teacher and maybe handing out liquor to other kids? That's a lot of context.
Seriously? She's 15 and the pig is rather large. He could have held her down easily. Instead, he knocked her out. I wonder why...
I've already said that I didn't think it was justified, that he should be in jail. The reason I said that about context is that context matters, and I was hoping that someone who knew more about this could enlighten us about how a big guy like that could brutally tackle a girl like that. I'd still like to know what happened to the cop. Probably a slap on the wrist, if that.
