I just got some through a neighborhood co-op who purchases it from a farm in Schulenburg. I don't know if its any better for you but it sure taste a lot better. No funky milk aftertaste. It cost 7 bucks a gallon which is just a little more than regular organic milk.

ive drank milk from a cow in india....tasted amazing, but everyone advises to boil it (obviously) to kill any germs.

still, i tried it as a once in a while type thing....it was amazign.

How long does it last for? I always thought it went bad pretty quickly and drinking bad unpasteurized milk can result in some pretty serious health problems.

Not really too informed on it, so maybe I am completely wrong?

You're drinking another animals breast milk, and you're concerned about it being boiled?

    Milk is messed up.

This. If you think about it, we're the only creatures that drink over mammals' milk. I mean you don't see a monkey drinking racoon milk.

I thought it was illegal to sell it? I've been wanting some for the longest time. It tastes like melted ice cream. (thats what...nevermind.)

Unpasteurized milk has a tendency to cause infection.

There's a theory out there that cow milk is designed specifically with the purpose of helping a calf gain several hundred pounds in a short amount of time, and should not be ingested by humans on a regular basis.

It supposedly last up to a month because when it "sours", it becomes cottage cheese which doesn't happen to pasteurized milk.

In regards to legality. From their literature, they are able to sell it because the health department does regular checks for pathogens, but who knows.

Aren't we the only ones that ingest it after infancy?

If you put a bowl of milk out a cat or dog will drink it, probably other animals too.

I tried unpasteurized milk once when I was a kid and thought it was pretty disgusting.

It's not really a theory. There is too much protein in cow's milk and it can give an infant anemia and kidney damage. Adults handle milk well, but I think the advisory is no more than 3 glasses per day.

We're also the only creatures that make ground meat and eat it as burgers. What's your point?

Eh. That's not true. Cats and Dogs nurse each other's litters all the time.

I found the law about raw milk in Texas. Its legal as long as you buy it directly from the farm and it is certified grade "A" which implies testing it for pathogens and bacteria level.
