You are a GM getting a big to build around. Who would you rather have?

I think Monroe's game is better at this point in time, but Griffin gets fans in seats. Gotta build around the cash cow.

Well, Griffin is the flashier player, but I hate him.

I would rather have Monroe, he has the skills to create his own shot in crunch time, not just when set up by CP3. Not his fault he's on a terrible team.

Their stats are almost identical (similar TS%, rebound %, etc) but Griffin gets the nod right now for turning the ball over less, and in general creates shots better. Neither play much defense, Monroe is slightly bigger, but I'd probably still rather have Griffin because he does **** like this

I was debating a friend over this. He said it's not even close, I think that aside from the flash Monroe will end up being the better player. He was beasting it up when they played on the 18th, problem is nobody else on his team can do anything.

That isn't creating a shot... that's just another great assist deep in the paint by CP3. Nobody can deny Blake can make some awesome jams, but Scola would've scored a bucket in that situation too, and he can barely even get his hands to the rim, haha.

I don't see Griffin as a shot creator in a half court game. He relies on defensive breakdowns, passes by his teammates, putbacks. He may never be able to put a team on his back and carry it in crunch time.

Monroe, though, is a skilled-up big man who CAN create his own shot, and will only get better.

In all fairness he is rarely on Sports Center top 10.

Griffin can learn a post up game.

Monroe can't learn how to fly

Griffin benefits greatly from having cp3 on his team, and like others have said it's between attracting fans or having a legit big who given a few more seasons would dominated the other imo

Griffin plays 7 feet tall like Javale McGee plays 7 feet tall, with slightly less dumbass. I'd rather have the guy who knows how to play basketball and is not a gigantic p***y.

What's the point of comparing a Power forward to a Center?

Especially a PF that relies on his athleticism compared to a Center who has a true post up game?
