forget Insanity. I just got back from a 5 mile hike/jog up in the mountains. Let's just say I'm pretty tired.

Would you guys say that this is a top interval training workout?

    Have y'all found anything better?

I have insanity but I am curious if there is something I haven't heard of that outperforms insanity in whatever aspect.

Funny this thread has been bumped. I just started a dedicated round of Insanity only 3 days ago. Only 57 more days to go!:eek:

Prior to that, I had been incorporating various Insanity workouts into my weekly routine, in more or less of a hodgepodge fashion. I have done all of the workouts at some point or other. However, now I want to see what happens after following the full, strict program for the entire period.

Insanity is all about cardio. It will get your heart rate up like nothing else. P90-X is much better for strength training, but definitely lacks the cardio-intensity of Insanity.

After completing the 60 days of Insanity, I want to give Rushfit (Georges St. Pierre's program) a try. Would also like to try The Asylum at some point -- I've heard that is the roughest one of all.

I have to say that these home workout programs have really worked for me. I am in the best shape of my life and owe it all to them.

    Thanks for the reply.

I did a similar routine with Insanity where I would fit it into my week with other workouts. I mainly used Insanity as my cardio.

I was just curious if there was a better program. You make a good point in that you should complete the entire program first.

I have heard of Asylum. That looks intense. Will probably just do the same in completing all 60 days of Insanity.

Just started the first day of the second month. Brutal, just as I remember it.

    In a good way.:)

I am just so incredibly sore today. Can't believe how sore.

Recently completed the first month of Insanity, and had to delay starting the second month due to travel commitments. So, I decided to do a couple of weeks of P90X in between before I start the second month of Insanity.

Man, going from Insanity back to P90x is rough as hell. It must be because I'm working infrequently used muscles again, but it's brutal. I'm hobbling around like an old man. I must have lost some strength, too, because my reps are lower than where I left off a month or so ago.

Cardio is vastly improved, though, as expected. Recently achieved my long-time goal of a sub 20 minute 5k, which was pretty sweet! I imagine that after the 2nd month of Insanity, it will get even better.

Just goes to show that neither program is particularly balanced, and that each one has its area of focus. P90x = strength, Insanity = cardio. I wonder if there's something more balanced out there... possibly GSP's Rushfit.

Anyone else out there still as addicted to these fitness videos like me?

    This.

I just don't understand how you can get a serious workout in your living room watching a DVD.

Going to start this program up Monday. I think I rather try P90X because from what I am gathering, it seems more cardio/aerobic than mass building. I really need the muscle mass building instead.

    I'm currently about 138 lbs.

But, I can't wait, looking forward to it. (and looking at the hunnies)

Insanity is more for for toning and muscle definition, u won't gain much muscle mass. You could try this instead...http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/kris-gethin-12-week-daily-trainer-intro.html

My friend and i are starting a second cycle of this 12 week program this fall.
You don't have to follow the diet exactly,i don't, but the closer u follow the instructions the better the results.

Can you please elaborate on the topic of "eat right and nutrition"? I've recently decided to start trying to lose some weight, but I think I've just been exploring the working out and exercise side of it. I would really love to know about how I am supposed to change my diet and how I am supposed to eat.

Started working out 3 months ago using my own routine not insanity. Thought i share my results here with you guys. Remember to build the mentality first. Mind over matter. Try to get over the first 2 weeks where you want to quit. Then you'll become a gym junkie like me.

Jogged 2 miles a day with 2 6lbs dumbbell for 5days a week. *Getting ready for the texans run of the bull 5k run (this makes you lose weight really fast. I went from 155 to 145. Now i can't even gain weight even though i eat fattening food like McDonald and such for lunch everyday. Great way to see result if you want to tone up from my experience.)

Work out 5 days at the gym doing...

    Current
    90/lbs curl 6 sets of 10 reps
pull up 5 sets of 25 reps
dip set 5 sets of 25 reps
    70lb bench 1 set of 100 reps

of course i started out small weights before hitting the heavy one.

    Started
    50lbs curl 10 sets of 75 reps
pull up 5 sets of 10 reps
dip set 5 sets of 10 reps
    50lb bench 1 set of 100 reps

All this weightlifting can be done at the gym within 1 hr and my jogging takes up 20 mins a day.

so back on the insanity wagon, day 4 today. last time i did it i never made it to month 2, that is my goal here. i need to lose 8 pounds to get back to where i was last summer, but even more interested in the inner thigh and stomach toning rather than the scale (hey there, swimsuit season).

recovery today, hell (plyo cardio circuit/pure cardio) tomorrow and saturday. i wish my ******* coworkers would stop leaving girl scout cookies on my desk.

    gotta keep motivated!!!!!

Just started the second month, thankfully. 1) i needed a rest the "recovery week" and 2) the routine was getting too monotonous after doing so many times.

I'm mostly keeping to the schedule. I've also been doing weights 3-4 times a week so I have taken an extra day off here and there...i'd say in total i added about a week to the regimen they lay out.

I completed Insanity a few months back and still pepper in the videos every now and then. Right now I'm doing a p90x/Insanity hybrid. This morning I did what I consider the toughest dvd of all -- max interval circuit. I burn around 1,000 calories doing it. Have to pound carbs immediately after the Insanity dvds , otherwise I'm noticeably sluggish throughout the day. My body fat is around 10% now, which is about where I like it.

If you want to get in shape, these DVDs are amazing

Started a few weeks ago and got some shin splints so I took it easy for a week and did weights and noticed my stamina was much improved on drop sets and super sets. Ya I agree the workouts get monotonous, that's why I love sports but since that's not an option this will have to do for now. Are any of y'all using the results and recovery or shakeology? and would you Recommend them? I'm using my optimum nutrition caesin and just eating healthier

138 pounds? How tall are you bro?

Also, I say for mass building, eat LOTS and lift heavy.
