LOL @ fat Betty storyline to cover up Jones' pregnancy. Well I suppose that's better than having her holding a big bag or something.

Has anyone ever noticed that the opening graphics have a guy in a suit, a MadMan I suppose, plummeting from a tall building? Foreshadowing?

They did it ridiculously though by putting prostetics as well to make her look even bigger than she was during pregnancy.

The cut to the shot of the "Fat Betty" body double from behind in the bathtub was honestly one of the worst, most obvious uses of a body double in the history of the moving image.

besides the expertly stylized art direction, what differentiates this show from the daytime soaps?

The period setting, the excellent writing/dialog, and the quality acting. It's the best soap on TV.

Daytime soaps are cursed to mediocrity because they have to write daily story lines and target the same demos as Price is Right and Judge Joe Brown. It'd be fairer to ask what separates them from Dallas or Falcon Crest, which were actually both pretty good early on. I think David Selby: who played both Richard Channing and Ho Ho's dad, is a decent stock actor.

I'm tired of anything that has to do with Betty or her daughter. They both give me the heebee jeebees. At least Betty used to be attractive. Sheesh.

The daughter is creepier to me, wouldn't shock me if they had her turn into a killer of some sort.

I don't think that's what will happen but if they did I wouldn't be surprised, at least we don't have to see the weirder kid from her old neighbourhood.

During last night's episode for a minute there I thought Don
    really killed that woman.

And how far away is Peggy from an AA meeting? LOL.

I have to completely disagree. I think she is smart for her age and very mature as she has been coping well with situations, she is better than her mother at that. What has she done that no other healthy kid would do?

I don't think Sally is creepy, but I I think she's on her way to becoming as ****ed up as her mother. Grandma certainly gave that a kickstart in this episode.

The roger and Peggy scene was great. I'm kinda liking the new guy.
